John Cena returns, Guest host for Payback, Jimmy Uso teases of joining The Bloodline, Bobby Lashley makes a statement, and more!

The final episode of Friday Night SmackDown before the 2023 Payback is officially over as they witnessed Cena's and Jimmy Uso's return, face to face confrontation of The Miz and LA Knight, AJ Styles messing up with The Bloodline, Jimmy teased of joining the Bloodline, Bobby Lashley and Street Profits making the statement and so on. Match Summary

John Cena returns- Jimmy Uso returns

The GOAT kicks off the Friday Night SmackDown, as the crowd chants hits the sky. Cena addressed the WWE Universe, thanked them for their continuous support, as they are the one why he is here, not for a day, but for months. Because of them he is going to India to wrestle for the first time in his 20 years career. They are the reason that Cena is hosting Payback. Yes, he is the Guest host of the 2023 Payback. 

Jimmy Uso interrupts John Cena with a brand new entrance theme and asks Cena why he is here? As the WWE Universe is here to see Jimmy and ask him Why? Jimmy, Why? He once again said that he did it for Jey as he loves him and doesn’t want to see him corrupt like Roman Reigns and John Cena. Jimmy got a huge boo! and the crowd chanted We want Jey! Cena said that the wrong Uso quitted, which pissed off Jimmy. He went to Super kick Cena, but Cena caught his leg and delivered an Attitude Adjustment to Jimmy.

Rey Mysterio & Santos Escobar vs Austin Theory & Grayson Waller

Austin Theory and Grayson Waller were backstage interviewed by Kayla Braxton. She asked how they feel about Cena being the host of Payback? They laughed as Theory said that he already defeated Cena. They have a business to handle as they take on Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar.

Escobar and Waller started the match, Escobar initiated the first move as he hit him with a drop kick on Waller and twisted his hand to tag Rey in. Rey sent Waller and Theory out and Rey went flying through the top rope and landed on Theory and Escobar with an assist from Escobar.

During the commercial, Rey climbed the top rope, but Theory pulled his leg off, which made Waller and Theory gain control over them. Waller and Theory played a dirty game as they distracted the referee and attacked Rey on their corner.

Theory locked Rey's arms from the back, but Waller accidentally hit Theory on the face. Which made Rey gain momentum and tag Escobar in. Escobar took both out of the ring, where both Rey and Escobar tried to jump on them. Theory however attacked Escobar's injured knee, Rey then sent Theory out with a clothesline over the top rope. Waller then jumped in and delivered him a Rolling Stunner for the win!

Winner: Waller & Theory Ratings: 3/5

Backstage

Michin was backstage talking to Adam Pearce, but was interrupted by Jimmy Uso and disrespected Michin. Michin was unhappy and expressed her show of disrespect to The O.C. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson said that they have nothing to do with the problem, but Styles said that he will take care of Jimmy. He said that Bloodline thinks that they run SmackDown, but this is the house that AJ Styles built.

He met Jimmy backstage, who was about to leave the building and had an argument. Styles pushed Jimmy, but Solo Sikoa attacked Styles from the back. Solo said Jey that he is always in The Bloodline, until they say it’s over and requested to join them again. Jimmy denied and walked out.

Ratings: 4/5

Bobby Lashley & Street Profits

Bobby Lashley explained his relationship with Street Profits, that he recognizes them as the great recognizes the greats. He called out Street Profits to the ring and praised them by saying that they are more charismatic, athletic and more aggressive than ever before, but Ford stopped him and said that they have not come to get praised by him. They came to praise Bobby for what he has done for them. Lashley and Profits got a huge pop, as Lashley made the statement to the entire WWE, that they are coming to gain the power, control and the gold.

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs The LWO (Cruze & Wilde)

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn’s music hits before Lashley and Profits were gone. They gave the way for them to enter the ring. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are said to take on Cruze and Wilde of the LWO. Zayn and Wilde started the match as Zayn had the initial control with a slam. Kevin Owens tagged in and went for a Swanton Bomb from the top rope to Wilde. Wilde then tagged Cruze in, but soon got assaulted by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Owens hit him with a Pop-Up Powerbomb, Zayn hit him with a Helluva Kick, Owens went for a Stunner and for the win.

Winner: Owens & Zayn Ratings: 3/5

LA Knight-The Miz [Face to Face]

The Miz is here on SmackDown to have a face to face with LA Knight. He said that LA Knight is not even half of his level that he was 10 years ago. He will come to know about it after being defeated by The Miz. LA Knight interrupts and reacts to The Miz’s impersonation of him on Raw. He said that The Miz has mocked The Rock, Cena and LA Knight overall, as all the three were the one who Miz wanted to be, but he isn’t. Knight accepts that he is not on The Miz’s level as he is over him.

He took it personally and asked Miz to inform her wife that he will not be the 100% after Payback as Knight might break him into half. Miz countered him by saying that after Miz wins tomorrow, Knight will lose his confidence and popularity. Knight talked back that after he wins tomorrow Miz will come to know whose game is this when everybody says “L A Knight”.

The Miz hit Knight on the throat and delivered a Skull Crushing Finale and walked through the ramp. Where Knight ran and attacked him from the back. Referee stopped them as Miz ran out.

Bayley vs Shotzi Blackheart

Bayley with IYO SKY & Dakota Kai on her corner take on Shotzi Blackheart. Shotzi got the upper hand at the initial part of the match, as she hit her with a Drop kick and an arm bar over the ropes. Bayley breaks the arm bar after the five count and hits her with a Clothesline and a on kick to the leg. Bayley tried to take control of the match, but Shotzi hit her with a step-up insecurity to the head and a cannon to Bayley down the ring.

After the commercial, Bayley had the control as she locked Shotzi’s neck and an elbow to the back of her spine from the middle rope. Bayley tried to hit her with a second Elbow drop but Shotzi countered with knees up and sent Bayley out of the ring. Sotzi hit a suicide dive, Faceburster to Bayley and went for the top rope, but Bayley pulled her legs and hit her with an elbow to the chest left her hanging on the turn buckle.

Shotzi then countered Bayley’s strikes and went for the top rope again, but now got distracted by IYO and made Bayley pull her leg off. Bayley asked for IYO's belt to hit Shotzi on the face, but Charlotte Flair's music hits, who took IYO out. Which distracted Bayley as Shotzi used it for the win.

Winner: Shotzi Ratings: 2.5/5

AJ Styles vs Solo Sikoa

As they had the backstage heat, AJ Styles got the match against Solo Sikoa for the main event. As soon as the bell rang, Styles attacked Solo, but was thrown away as Solo hit him with a couple of slams. Solo went for a splash but was countered by Styles with his knees up. Styles hit Solo with a step-up insecurity and a drop kick.

When Styles was in control of the match, Paul Heyman walked through the entrance ramp with his phone in his hand. Despite being distracted, Styles sent Solo out of the ring and hit him with a Phenomenal Forearm out of the ring.

AJ Styles tried to jump from the ropes, but Solo Sikoa countered with a right hand to the face and sent him rips first to the ring post, cutting him into half. Solo then delivered Styles with a Belly to Belly Suplex and with an overhead throw. Sikoa measured Styles for a Samoan Spike, but Styles countered with his leg, by kicking him back on the head and with a Pele kick.

Both exchanged their hands as Styles hit Solo on the leg and with rapid strikes. He tried to lift Solo over his shoulder but wasn't able to. Solo escaped and delivered a Samoan Drop and tried for a corner splash, but Styles moved and hit him with a Clothesline and a Moonsault.

Styles measured Sikoa for a Styles Splash, but Solo Lifted him upside down. AJ Styles escaped Solo and measured him for a Phenomenal Forearm, but Jimmy came out of nowhere and pulled his legs off. Solo hit a Samoan Spike on Styles for the win. 

After the match Jimmy hugged Solo from the back, Solo tried to Samoan Spike Jimmy, but Paul Heyman stopped him. Jimmy hit Styles with a Superkick and a Uso Splash from the top rope. He faced Solo and Paul Heyman and lifted his hand teasing that he would join The Bloodline again.

Winner: Solo Sikoa Ratings: 4/5
