New championships teased at recent WWE show
WWE have made a lot of changes on the last week's episode of SmackDown, where Adam Pearce was made Raw General Manager, Nick Aldis debuted as SmackDown General Manager, Kevin Owens was transferred to SmackDown and Jade Cargill was introduced to Charlotte Flair. Not only this, but also there was a tease of introducing a new championship belt.
New WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
On last week's episode of SmackDown, WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, Chelsea Green & Piper Niven showed up backstage to meet the new SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. Green stated that the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship was cursed and gave a list of past title holders who got injured while holding the titles.
Green then asked to introduce a brand new title design for the Women's Tag Team Titles with Italian leather. Although Aldis didn't respond with yes or no, it is expected that the title change might happen to the titles, not necessarily with the Italian leather.
WWE have changed the looks, name, design of major championships this year except the tag team champions of the men's and women's division. This might be a hint to replace the existing championship with the new ones.
It was previously rumored that the Raw and SmackDown Championship will be made as the World Tag Team Championship and SmackDown Tag Team Championship will be made as WWE Tag Team Championship with all the World Championships in the Raw brand and the WWE Championships in the SmackDown brand. We suspect that the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship will remain the same, but there will be changes in the design and materials similar to the men's tag team championship.
Since there is no official information about the launch and rebranding of titles we could expect on the road in the near future, until then we need to wait and watch.
