Randy Orton to return by Survival Series: WWE rumors
Randy Orton injured his back in May 2022 on an episode of WWE SmackDown, in a Raw/SmackDown Tag Team Unification match against The Usos. RK-Bro lost the title to the Usos and Orton was written away from television to undergo back fusion surgery and to recover from it.
He underwent surgery in November 2022 and was reported by his father Bob Orton earlier this year that Randy was advised by the doctors not to step inside the wrestling ring, but he wishes to return and would do his best to return to the ring.
On the road to SummerSlam, when Orton's return was rumored, it was reported that Orton was not cleared from his medical conditions as he hasn't started his in-ring training yet. In September 2023, it was confirmed that Orton started training at the performance center and video of Orton’s arrival was leaked. Week’s ago it was informed that WWE have started scripting the creative for Randy Orton’s return to the company.
Ringside News reported a day ago that the internal sources have told them that his return is described inside creative meetings as “soon”. At this stage, his potential return date has been revealed.
Randy Orton return at Survivor Series
According to the reports of Fightful Select, Randy Orton and WWE are targeting Survivor Series 2023 as the potential place for his return.
Survivor Series is the upcoming premium live event of WWE, which is scheduled to be held on November 25, 2023 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. This is the final pay-per-view of WWE in 2023.
As previously stated Orton will not be continuing his existing RK-Bro storyline, and would be forced to enter a new storyline. As Riddle was released from WWE, there is no possibility of an RK-Bro reunion. Although his return is not officially confirmed by the company and his creative plans are not revealed, we need to wait and watch how the Viper's return could impact the roster.
