WWE Raw Results & Winners (October 2, 2023): Gunther retains Intercontinental Championship, DIY reunited

Gunther retains, DIY reunion, Cody in a Championship match at Fastlane, Rhea returns, Judgment Day in trouble, Nakamura brutalized Rollins and more!

The October 2, 2023 episode of Monday Night Raw is a preview of Fastlane. The show is filled with multiple segments, matches and brawls making it one of the must see episode in recent times. In India the live stream has been cancelled, so why worry. Know what happened on tonight's episode of Raw, as we came out with the complete summary and winners list.

Raw Summary

B-"RAW"-L [Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Raquel Rodriguez, Rhea Ripley]

The Monday Night Raw kicked off with a brawl. As soon as Raw kicked off, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler were already in the middle of the brawl in the ring. WWE officials tried to separate them, but Nia Jax couldn’t be stopped. Raquel Rodriguez rushed to the ring and attacked Nia, but accidentally kicked Baszler, which made Jax overpower Rodriguez.

Rhea Ripley ran to the ring and took Jax down and blew punches on her, to which the crowd cheered. This turned out to be a big brawl. Securities tried to stop them, but Ripley took them and hit Rip-tide to a security.

Judgment Day [Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, Damien Priest]

As things were getting settled, Ripley called out the rest of Judgment Day. Dominik Mysterio and Damien Priest walked to the ring. Ripley said that there is no leader on Judgment Day, but they need to take responsibility. Rhea said that she left the responsibilities to Priest, but in the last two weeks everything fell apart for the Judgment Day.

Ripley reported that Bálor was injured as a result of a brawl last week, and Priest couldn't be able to compete tonight as he is not medically cleared.

Rhea spoke that Dom lost his NXT North American title to Trick Williams at NXT No Mercy, because Priest wasn’t there on his corner. She added that Priest and Bálor’s tag team titles were in danger as Jey and Cody were coming for the titles.

Priest told Ripley he knew that was coming and was taking care of his own business, and so he still had his title and his briefcase with him. He asked Ripley where Dom's title was.

Ripley addressed Dom and told him that he is having a rematch against Trick Williams tomorrow on NXT. It would be better if he wins his title back or he won’t be home again.

Jey Uso interrupted them and welcomed Rhea Ripley stating “Hey, we missed you. We all missed you.” Jey told Rhea that there is a new Tribal Chief on Raw and she is greater than Roman Reigns ever did.

Priest was tired of hearing Jey and was about to step to Jey, but Dom stopped him and said he would take care of Jey. Dom tried to attack Jey, but Jey superkicked Dom. Jey was blind attacked by JD McDonagh. As Dom, JD and Priest continue to attack Jey, Cody Rhodes runs to the ring to save Jey. Jey hit a superkick to McDonagh and Dom, Cody delivered a Cross Rhodes to Dom.

Adam Pearce came out and announced that Damien Priest and Finn Balor will defend their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships on the line against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso at Fastlane.

Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci defeated Chad Gable & Otis

Gable took the initial control of the match. Gable went for a dive with the assist of Otis, but ended in a botch as he fell down straight.

After the commercial, Imperium took control by slowing down Gable and locking him in his corner. Gable however fought back and tagged Otis. Kaiser went to tag Vinci, but he was laid down as Gable knocked Vinci off.

Otis delivered a body slam to Kaiser and hit him with a Caterpillar. Otis climbed the middle rope and attempted for a fallaway slam but Vinci grabbed his leg. Gable took Vinci out with a cannonball, but Kaiser hit Otis with a running enziguri for the pinfall win. After the match, Gable went chasing Kaiser out of the ring.

Winner: Imperium

Backstage

Tegan Nox was on the backstage with Adam Pearce, where Pearce explained that Lynch wasn’t cleared to compete tonight, and their championship is postponed. Chelsea Green stood on the side of Nox and acted like her. Green said that the match was canceled for good as she could avoid a loss, as Nox is not a championship material . Nox asked Pearce to book a match with Green tonight, which was granted.

Bronson Reed vs Cedric Alexander

As soon as the match started, Cedric Alexander went after Reed and hit him with a suicide dive and flip dive. Alexander also hit a couple of Neuraliser. Reed however ran him over and hit him with a crossbody, a senton and Tsunami for a quick win.

Winner: Bronson Reed

Backstage

Drew McIntyre told Pearce that he is not interested in featuring The Miz Tv and instead wanted to address the fans in the ring. He doesn’t want The Miz in the ring, but if he did, he would regret it.

Pearce asked McIntyre if he was doing alright as he seemed off and wasn’t doing the “right thing” the last few weeks. McIntyre said that no one did a “right thing” when he was beaten down by the Bloodline in the past.

Intercontinental Championship Contract Signing 

Gunther showed up in a suit, but Ciampa came up with his usual attire. Ciampa yelled at Gunther for not giving enough opportunities like him. Ciampa said that he would win the title as he has been dreaming of winning since he was five years old. He would take his entire family to the ringside but he will not fight for them, he will be fighting for his dream and would be the Intercontinental Champion at the end of the night. Ciampa signed the contract and demanded Gunther sign.

Gunther said that he respects Ciampa’s noble motives. Gunther said that the IC title meant most to him as he is the greatest IC champion of all time. Ciampa told Gunther not to be so confident as his world was about to crumble at Fastlane. Gunther warned Ciampa not to interrupt him again, but Ciampa interrupted him again. Gunther told Ciampa could go home after their match and to continue his dream, as he would never get this close to the title again.

Gunther signed the contract and said that he would teach Ciampa a lesson. Gunther tried to attack Ciampa, but Ciampa flipped the table and attacked him. Both fought, but Ciampa locked Gunther with the Sicilian Stretch, however Gunther tried to escape.

Xavier Woods vs Ivar

As soon as the match started, Woods drop-kicked Ivar to the corner. After the commercial, Woods took Ivar on his shoulders and delivered a sit out Slam. Woods tried to powerbomb Ivar off the top rope, but Ivar fell on him. Ivar went for a splash but Woods rolled out. Woods took it as an advantage and went for a rollup to win the match.

After the match, Ivar attacked Woods and Kingston and laid both down with spinning kicks. Ivar then power bombed Kingston over Woods, and hit them with a Moonsault.

Winner: Xavier Woods

Seth Rollins Interview 

Rollins came to the ring for an interview with Michael Cole. Rollins expressed his happiness to see Cole as the voice of WWE. Cole asked him, If Rollins was now the puppet thanks to Nakamura.

Rollins couldn’t believe that he would win the match against Nakamura. Cole spoke about the risks of a last man standing match with poor back. Rollins said that he was addicted to it, he loves it. He didn’t worry even if his career came to an end at Fastlane. All that matters to him is to leave all in the ring and be an example to his daughter. 

Nakamura appeared on the screen with a pre-taped promo. When Rollins was watching the screen, Nakamura attacked him from the back and hit him with a Kinshasa to the back of the head.

The video of Nakamura went counting to ten but Rollins stood up at seven. Nakamura attacked Rollins with back to back chair shots. The count started again and Rollins stood at nine. Nakamura again attacked him and delivered a backbreaker onto a chair and hit him with a Kinshasa. Nakamura quickly counted to ten and raised the world title.

Backstage

Lynch was on the backstage with her arm sling. She approached Nox and asked her to be ready to have a fight when the time is right. Natalya met Nox and said that she is impressed and proud of her. Natalya said that she would defeat Lynch for the title when her opportunity comes.

Tegan Nox vs Chelsea Green

Natalya came to the ring to neutralize Piper Niven. Nox took Green off the top, hit her with a Molly-go-round and the Shiniest Wizard to have a quick pinfall victory. Natalya lifted Nox’s hands post-match.

Drew McIntyre promo

McIntyre said that he doesn’t wanna give any explanation to anyone in the back. He only wanted to explain to the WWE Universe because they are the one who have been with him through his ups and downs, the firings and the titles.

Drew said that he would stop being the savior and getting involved in fights that he did not start. As he was doing it for years and he is done with it.

McIntyre didn’t save and neither has anyone else. Rhodes went for the save, but it was his own mess. Rhodes forgave Jey as a weakness, not a strength.

Miz interrupted him for canceling Miz TV this week. McIntyre told him to shut up. McIntyre knew that Miz wanted McIntyre to be a bad guy and attack Rollins and take his belt, or screw Jey Uso at Fastlane. McIntyre wasn’t that kind of guy.

McIntyre called for a fight but Miz said he wasn’t dressed for a match. When McIntyre turned his back, Miz attacked him with the mic. McIntyre was pissed off and went to attack Miz but officials stepped on him.

Backstage

Trick Williams was interviewed backstage about defending his title tomorrow against Dirty Dom. Dom met Williams with Ripley and McDonagh and Ripley told that Dom wouldn’t be coming to NXT alone tomorrow.

Cody Rhodes interview 

Coy Rhodes was interviewed near the ring and was asked about his tag match against Judgment Day. Rhodes said that he never thought that he would be teaming up with Jey. But it was The Judgment Day that made it happen.

Rhodes said that he and Jey will be on Smackdown this week as Judgment Day is said to appear. Rhodes assured that they would win the tag titles at Fastlane.

Intercontinental Championship Match

Ciampa had the first shot on Gunther and applied the Silicilan Stretch too soon. But Gunther reached the rope. After the commercial, Gunther was in control, who applied Ciampa with a Sleeper hold. Ciampa countered it with a Silicilan Stretch but Gunther escaped. Gunter chopped him and slammed over the apron.

They exchanged chops and Gunther took Ciampa to the top rope, chopped him again and took him out of the ring. Gunther tried to chopCiampa but ended in chopping the announcement desk. Ciampa used it as an advantage and hit a flying knee and targeted the arm. Gunther used his other arm to hit and chopped him off. Ciampa caught him and hit him with a couple of DDTs.

Ciampa targeted Gunther’s bad arm and applied the Sicilian Stretch again but Gunther again grabbed the rope. Both had a Chop battle, and Gunther delivered a couple of powerbombs. Gunther applied a sleeper hold and Ciampa passed out. Which made Gunther retain the Intercontinental Championship..

Vinci and Kaiser came to the ring and attacked Ciampa, where Johnny Gargano music played. He came to save Ciampa, speared Kaiser and super-kicked both men. Ciampa smiled seeing Gargano and they took Vinci down in the middle of the ring.

Winner: Gunther

Tegan Nox def. Chelsea Green by Pinfall.
