Will Ospreay wants to face current WWE World Heavyweight Champion
Will Ospreay is an English Professional Wrestler who is currently signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and is the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion in his second reign. He is also linked to AEW, Impact Wrestling, ROH and other individual promotions by the NJPW’s association. He has delivered some of the greatest matches and is considered as one of the best in the ring at present. He has now expressed his desire to face Seth Rollins in WWE.
Will Ospreay on his dream opponent
NJPW star Will Ospreay recently spoke to Alistir McGeorge of Metro, where Ospreay opened up on his interest in moving to WWE. He then spoke about his dream match with the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
“Someone like Adam [‘Edge’] Copeland or Bryan Danielson comes in [to AEW], and suddenly I’m tagged in everyone’s damn tweets being like, 'The dream match is with Ospreay.' It’s a pat on the back for me and I’m eternally grateful for it. But now it’s time for me to really gaugue and see what’s out there. So the Seth thing does intrigue me quick a lot. I heard him say in a promo, his 100% is the best in the world. My 50% is the best in the world, so if you actually got me at 100% I think you’d drown in these waters mate,”
Earlier this year, when Ospreay showed up in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Van Vliet asked Ospreay, “If there was a true forbidden door, what's the match you wanna have?”
To which Ospreay answered, “I think it's got to be Seth [Rollins] after the little Twitter thing, we've got to. It would be fun and he's so over right now, you see the crowd singing his song and everything it's mad. Especially from what he was getting when we had our little thing, that was a mixture of bad booking and everything along those lines, but now it's crazy.”
It would be a treat to watch two the alpha males of the wrestling industry come together and have a match against each other. As Ospreay expressed his wish to face Rollins, his contract with NJPW is about to expire in early 2024 and since WWE is looking for young talents across the globe, Ospreay will be ideal for the Stamford based company.
