John Cena’s WWE run over after SAG-AFTRA strikes called-off

John Cena returned to WWE after a long time in September 2023 and had a comparatively long run in the last six years. He has been in television for seven weeks straight on Friday night SmackDown, premium live events and at house shows. Cena’s return to WWE was due to the reason that the Screen Actors Guild- American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike. Cena previously reported at the Fastlane Press Conference, that he would get back to Hollywood after the strike ends. At this stage, recent reports suggest Cena’s current run is almost done.
SAG-AFTRA strike ends Cena’s WWE run
It was reported on Wednesday that the SAG-AFTRA strike has officially come to an end after 118 days, which came into force from Thursday. The report suggests that based on the unanimous vote, the committee tentatively agreed to AMPTP. The report strongly clears that the strike has already been called off and approves the actors to return to work.
“In a unanimous vote this afternoon, The SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Committee approved a tentative agreement with the AMPTP bringing an end to the 118 day strike. The strike officially ends at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, November 9. The tentative deal will go to the SAG-AFTRA National Board on Friday, November 10, 2023, for review and consideration. Further details will be released following that meeting.”
Cena indicates ‘The End’
John Cena on his Instagram, posted a picture reading “The End”, which indicates that the strikes have come to an end. As he previously reported of leaving WWE, as he has pending projects, which he will be continuing in the coming weeks. It is important to note that Cena’s current schedule with WWE has come to an end on October 27, 2023. However he extended his presence at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 4th.
There is no information whether Cena will be on this week’s episode of SmackDown or not. If not there isn’t any assurance whether we were able to see Cena in the resting ring or not as he already teased of retiring from in-ring matches.
