Ever since the control changed, WWE has been looking for ways to make the company globalized and more wealthier. The company was merged with UFC to form TKO group, has been hosting and booking a number of international events, looking forward for new broadcast deals and association with other promotions.

It was previously reported that the company is interested in extending the company with tie-ups with Japanese and Mexican promotions. However, an important backstage update reveals the current status of WWE and its potential deal with Japanese promotions.

WWE & Stardom

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that the Stamford based Company and Stardom were in talks, but haven’t confirmed about the possible deal.

Sean Ross Sapp noted,

“Numerous WWE sources noted that the company was in a new era and things could be done a lot differently.”

WWE & AJPW

It was previously reported that William Regal’s son and NXT superstar Charlie Dempsey was sent to AJPW for a match In December. Ross Sapp noted that,

“WWE has been much more relaxed on these possibilities since Nick Khan gained power, though it wasn’t directly attributed to his arrival, the timeline added up.”

WWE & NJPW

Sapp reported that WWE and NJPW have least possible to come to a deal as NJPW has already in deal with AEW. Sean Ross Sapp reported,

“Regarding rumors of WWE interest with NJPW, we’ve heard that WWE has long maintained interest in at least some connection with NJPW. Those we spoke to in both companies don’t think it’s particularly likely considering the strong partnership between AEW and NJPW, but said that with new faces at the helm of both WWE and NJPW, it’s at least more likely than it has been in a long time. Sources within WWE we spoke to said that Vince McMahon usually quickly nixed any discussion of such. Rocky Romero had spoken with Nick Khan at one point years ago, but the conversation never went anywhere.”
