Major Backstage update on Mercedes Mone's (Sasha Banks) WWE return

Mercedes Mone (aka Sasha Banks) is one of the four Horsewomen of WWE, who played a major role in the Women’s revolution of the company. She is one of the go to stars who set and broke multiple records for the company during her first run. Banks however left WWE in 2022 following disagreements with the company, vacating the tag team titles with Naomi. Banks was indefinitely suspended and got released from the company.
After which she went touring Japan and had a great run in the Japanese promotions. There were a number of rumors, and teases on Mone’s return to WWE ahead of the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV and it later fell apart as the reports revealed the money talks was huge. There are also rumours about AEW interested in signing Mone. Now a recent backstage report regarding The Boss’ WWE return.
Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks) in WWE?
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer discussed Guilia’s contract status with Stardom and eventually spoke about Mone’s WWE return. He revealed that some internal sources within WWE believe that there is still a chance for Banks to show up at the Royal Rumble.
Dave Melzer said,
“With all the AEW rumors (and there’s expectation in AEW that she’ll be in after finishing up some acting commitments this month), nothing is for certain & some in WWE believe there’s still a shot for her in the Royal Rumble.”
There have been a number of teases of her return from either side. Bayley also in a recent interview said that she is looking forward to one more match with Sasha Banks in future.
