Dustin Rhodes wants Cody Rhodes to main event WWE WrestleMania 40

Cody Rhodes has been having a long wait to finish his story by winning the world championship. He had a great run in 2023, where he came so close to finishing his story by main eventing WrestleMania 39 for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns’ however he came up short with last minute interference. He never received the championship rematch he deserved and was said to wait so long.

Cody was rumoured to be the one to face Roman Reigns for the title, however Rock’s return has made a lot of confusion. At this stage, Cody’s half-brother Dustin Rhodes spoke about who should main event WrestleMania 40.

Dustin Rhodes (fka Goldust) recently appeared for an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, where he spoke about his relationship with his father Dusty Rhodes & his Brother Cody Rhodes. He was asked about who should main event WrestleMania 40, as Rock is rumored to take his brother’s place. He believes that it’s Cody’s time, even if it’s Rock or no Rock.

“My dad, myself, and my brother, we’re three different men. But we all love the fans, we love the business, and we take a lot of pride in protecting the Rhodes name. Cody is on fire. This is his time. I’m very happy for him. We’re carrying on the legacy, which is very special to us.”

“I’m always looking out for Cody, so I’m always watching.

“I hope Cody’s in the main event spot against Roman. Or it’s going to be The Rock. If it is The Rock, I’m pissed–this is Cody’s time. He is becoming the face of the company, and it’s paying off. But I get it. If it is The Rock, it’s still good business. I understand that there are a lot of people who love seeing The Rock. But I still think it’s Cody’s moment.”

Cody Rhodes confirmed his participation in the Men’s Royal Rumble match with the aim of winning it and main eventing WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns to finish the story. Could we be able to see Cody finish his story by this year? Comment your thoughts.
