John Cena is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, he has been in WWE for more than two decades. Cena is a 16 time World Champion, who is considered as the GOAT. However, Cena moved from WWE to Hollywood to pursue a career in acting.

He is now a full-time actor and part-time wrestler. Cena returned to WWE in September 2023 and had a 14 week long time in WWE. Although Cena returned, he was teasing his retirement throughout his journey. He hinted that his career is nearing to end and has not much time left in his in-ring career. Cena has now revealed his retirement timeline and his last match in a couple of interviews earlier this week.

John Cena on his WWE retirement timeline

The 16-time Champ, John Cena has recently appeared for an interview with Entertainment Tonight, where Cena spoke about the end to his career and revealed his timeline. Cena is looking to end his career before the age of 50.

John Cena on his retirement said,

“I made a promise to the consumer early on, to WWE fans, ’cause I know how tough it is to be a fan. You gotta come out of pocket and WWE has a ton of content. It takes a lot to be a passionate fan and our fanbase is passionate and global. I never wanted to go out there just for the sake of going out there.”

“I’m gonna be 47 this year. I feel great. So inside I feel great, but I know what it takes to be a WWE performer night in and night out and I don’t ever wanna just go out there and do it to do it. I wanna have the passion, the same passion as the fanbase and I wanna give them exactly what they give me. The miles on the speedometer say, ‘Hey, that’s gotta be done before 50.’”

John Cena’s last match in the United Kingdom?

John Cena in an interview with BBC’s The One Show spoke about his retirement match. Cena said that he wishes to retire in the UK at O2 Stadium in London.

Cena said,

“Fans in the UK, WWE fans, they’re the best & fans in London specifically they will let you know how they feel & I don’t think I’ll be able to choose my opponent but if I could choose a venue it’d be the O2 in London.”

Cena had previously spoken about hosting a potential WrestleMania in London during the Money in the Bank PLE 2023. It seems like he has already set his sights on his retirement match.
