Netflix buys rights to WWE Raw in mega $5 billion deal; starting from 2025

Now WWE has officially announced that WWE Raw has exclusively found a new home leaving linear television programming after 31 years to a major OTT platform Netflix.
In 2019, WWE signed massive media deals with NBC and Fox for the television rights of WWE Raw and SmackDown. As both the deals are coming to an end next year, negotiations for the media rights began months ago.
Previously, SmackDown was moved from Fox to USA and NXT was moved from USA to The CW Network. However, Raw was expected to have a massive deal, since being the longest running weekly live television show of WWE.
WWE Raw on Netflix
WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings, Inc. on January 23, 2024 announced that WWE’s flagship weekly program, WWE Raw is sold for a ten year deal with the world’s leading entertainment service, Netflix for a whooping deal of more than $5 billion USD. This marks an end to WWE Raw’s 31-year journey from linear television for the very first time. The deal will come to act in January 2025.
Netflix will be the exclusive new home of Raw in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Latin America, among other territories, with additional countries and regions to be added over time. As per the new deal, Netflix will also be the home for all WWE shows and specials outside the United States, including Raw, SmackDown and NXT. Netflix will also be streaming the company’s Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble.
