On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, “Main Event” Jey Uso challenged “The Ring General” Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. The match took place in the main event of Raw and was one of the highlights of the evening. Both delivered a tough fight, by brutally beating each other up. During the final few minutes of the match, Jey Uso fired up and delivered a total of five spears.

However, Jey’s older twin, Jimmy Uso came out of nowhere and cost Jey Uso his match with the distraction. Gunther won by roll down to continue his undefeated reign surpassing 620+ days as the Intercontinental Champion. Now a backstage report reveals some shocking details about the match from the sources.

Jey Uso was supposed to win Intercontinental title

Wrestling Votes on X reported that they have heard an interesting story from multiple sources of WWE that Jey Uso was supposed to win the Intercontinental Championship by dethroning Gunther on the most recent episode of Raw. It was said that the title change plans were listed two hours before Raw.

Wrestling Votes report,

“Hearing an interesting story we hope to follow up on with more tomorrow… source states there were multiple people within the company under the impression Jey Uso was winning the IC title tonight on RAW. I’m told that as late as 6pm, this was the direction on various show rundowns within the creative and digital departments.”

Jey Uso never held a singles title in his pro-wrestling career, he was so close from winning the title, however Jimmy Uso cost the match with distraction and assaulted him after the match. It was already reported that Jey Uso vs Jimmy Uso is in discussions for WrestleMania 40. It seems like their road to WrestleMania 40 has officially begun.
