AJ Styles reveals major goal to accomplish before retirement from WWE

AJ Styles is one of the best professional wrestlers in the industry, who have a great legacy beyond WWE. Styles has been in professional wrestling for more two and a half decades and in WWE for over eight years. The 46-year-old is a seven time champion in the company including two WWE Championships, three United States Championships, one Intercontinental Championship and one Tag Team Championship reign.
He is the 32nd Triple Crown Champion and 15th Grand Slam Champion of the company. However, he is away from the championship spotlight for a very long time. Styles in a recent interview had spoken about his desire to accomplish a major goal before his retirement.
AJ Styles wants the WWE Championship
The Phenomenal One recently appeared for an interview on AfterWords with Johnjay & Rich, where AJ Styles spoke about his desire to win the WWE Championship for one more time before his retirement.
AJ Styles said,
“I need that championship one more time before I call it quits.”
AJ Styles last held the WWE Championship in 2018 and never had his eyes on the World title. Styles was then stuck in the mid-card and tag team alliance for some days. Last year, Styles had a pursuit for the World Heavyweight Champion and earlier this year at Royal Rumble came a failed pursuit for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Styles has undergone a major change in his character as a heel. He is now in a fixed rivalry with LA Knight, who spoiled his Elimination Chamber spot for the World title. He has now dumped The O.C. and hangs out alone, but more destructive than ever.
It has been so long since Styles held the world title. Could we be able to see Styles back in the World Championship spotlight again? Comment your thoughts.
