(Courtesy : WWE)
WWE is on the road to WrestleMania 40 and the company is urging towards booking some of the great matches for the great show. A number of top tier matches are being confirmed one by one and the potential match card will be up within weeks. As the company is fully focused on the Show of Shows, here we take a look beyond and bring you ten feuds that WWE should book after WrestleMania 40.
10. Awesome Truth vs Imperium
This match is purely based on the assumption that R-Truth and The Miz winning the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 40. If the Awesome Duo wins the Tag Team Gold, they must definitely defend it against Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of Imperium to prove their standards. This match could be fun, based on a previous feud with Miz & Imperium.
9. Austin Theory vs Grayson Waller
Austin Theory and Grayson Waller should get split after WrestleMania 40, by making Theory the babyface. The potential match between the two could be great in the mid-card with fiery promos and awesome in-ring work. WWE could build a long time feud with Waller and Theory, making it a big rivalry for years to come.
8. Finn Balor vs Damian Priest
The reigning Tag Team Champions, Finn Balor & Damian Priest of The Judgment Day should split up, with Balor causing Priest to lose the MITB cash-in. This will be a brutal top card feud after WrestleMania, as both could tear each other apart and has the potential to even main event a pay-per-view.
7. Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan
Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan have already started to build tensions between them. This should result in a feud after WrestleMania, where Liv could develop Drew McIntyre kind of character post WrestleMania chasing the Women’s World Title after Lynch winning it at WrestleMania 40.
6. Jade Cargill vs Charlotte Flair
Jade Cargill made her debut at Royal Rumble and fought with some of the big stars of the company. Since Charlotte is injured, they didn’t have an opportunity to fight each other. After Flair’s return and Cargill’s main roster in-ring debut, the potential rivalry between them could be the battle of dominance in the women’s division.
5. Gunther vs Seth Rollins
Gunther before Royal Rumble had a confrontation against Seth Rollins and teased of coming after Rollins and the title. However, The Ring General lost the rumble and the potential match didn’t happen. The match between Seth Rollins and Gunther could be a big money match and WWE should consider booking the match after WrestleMania, potentially around the World title or for the contendership.
4. Seth Rollins vs CM Punk
Seth Rollins vs CM Punk should have been featured at WrestleMania 40, but due to Punk’s tricep tear the potential match was dropped. However they still hold the hatred towards each other within them and talk trash whenever they get the chance. This match can be made for the second biggest event, SummerSlam and it could be a big box office draw for the company.
3. Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk
Although CM Punk is injured and written off television, Drew McIntyre has never stopped making fun of him. Drew attacked the injured arm and claimed that he was the one who buried Punk’s WrestleMania dream. Punk also said that he would be coming for Drew once he is cleared from his injury. The potential match between Punk & McIntyre is already in the making and there are high chances happening after Mania.
2. Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton
This is purely on the assumption that Cody Rhodes will finish his story at WrestleMania 40 by becoming the Universal Champion. After winning his first title, he could potentially defend it against his mentor, Randy Orton first either as a show of respect or Orton attacking Cody with jealousy could be great storytelling post WrestleMania 40.
1. The Rock vs Roman Reigns
The Rock and Roman Reigns although seems to be on the same page under The Bloodline, the two big egos colliding is one of the biggest matches in history. The Rock turning on Roman Reigns to turn face again or Roman turning on The Rock for stealing his spotlight could be a great storyline.
The Rock vs Roman was supposed to be happening at WrestleMania, however a match at either SummerSlam, Survivor Series or next year’s WrestleMania could be great and will break all time box office records.
