John Cena is one of the Greatest Pro-Wrestlers of All Time, who has been in the pro-wrestling industry for more than two decades. The Cenation leader after achieving great success went on to pursue a career in Hollywood and became a part-time wrestler slowly. Cena however returned for a full-time role after a long time last year, while Hollywood was on strike and went on to resume with his projects after the strike was called off.
John Cena is a 16 World Champion in the company and his transition to his acting career has taken him away from the championship spotlight again. However, Cena has spoken about winning his 17th World Championship, retirement and more in a recent interview.
John Cena on becoming 17 time World Champion
John Cena recently appeared for an interview with Chris Van Vliet on the Insight Podcast. During the interview, the Cenation leader was asked about his favourite title reign in WWE. To which Cena replied that his next title reign could be cool, after breaking all the records. Cena then addressed his retirement stating that he always spoke about his time is coming soon and it is probably soon but it’s not tomorrow.
Cena said,
“My next one. That’d be cool [on breaking the record]. I’ve often said that the time is coming for me to hang it up. I’m not lying when I am saying that but it’s not tomorrow. It’s probably soon, but it’s not tomorrow. You never know.”
John Cena on WWE or Hollywood?
Cena was asked about his transition from WWE to acting career in Hollywood and what role made him feel the transition made official. Cena said that the transition has never happened and always will be a member of the WWE family.
Cena on his transition,
“I don’t think I’ll ever not be a member of the WWE family first… from my perspective, the switch has never happened. You know me, I always speak fondly of WWE, my time and experience there.”
“I can’t tell you how much the audience has made me the man I am today. Having to deal with all the polarizing audiences. We’ve seen a lot of performers not be able to do that and to have to do that for so, so long, it teaches you about you and you really go through a journey of self-worth, so I don’t think I’ll ever not be WWE family first.”
