The May 06 episode of WWE NXT featured a 25-man battle royal
The May 06 episode of WWE NXT aired live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The show featured TNA World Champion Joe Hendry in action, who teamed up with NXT Tag Team Champions Hank Walker & Tank Ledger to battle the DarkState (Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin & Cutler James) .
The DarkState triumphed in the six-man tag match as they picked up the win via pinfall. Zaria defeated Kelani Jordan in a singles match, crushing Jordan’s dream to challenging Sol Ruca for the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
In the highly anticipated 25-man battle royal, Myles Borne won to become number one Contender for the NXT Championship, which is currently held by Oba Femi. Additionally, TNA’s Elijah (fka Elias) returned to NXT and took part in the battle royal.
Disagreement mounted within No Quarter Catch Crew after Charlie Dempsey attempted to claim the number one Contender’s spot, rightfully earned by Myles Borne, as his own. While Jaida Parker defeated Karmen Petrovic in a singles match.
In the main event of the show, Jordynne Grace defeated former NXT Women’s Champion Giulia to become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship, which is held by Stephanie Vauqer.
During the May 06 episode, the developmental brand also announced multiple matches for the next week’s show, which, as usual, will emanate from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The build towards the upcoming NXT Battleground
A TNA World Championship contract signing for NXT Battleground 20205 featuring the TNA World Champion Joe Hendry and challenger Trick Williams is announced for the show, along with a singles match between Wes Lee and Tony D’Angelo.
Additionally, after their heated conversation this week, where Borne volunteered for Dempsey to face Oba Femi next week. Charlie Dempsey will battle the NXT Champion Oba Femi in a singles match.
