All matches announced for WWE RAW (May 12, 2025): Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky in tag action, AJ Styles battles Finn Balor & more

The Backlash go-home show emanated from Omaha!

The May 05 episode of Monday Night Raw served as the go-home show for Backlash 2025 and emanated from the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The show featured segments that were used to hype up fans for the upcoming PLE on May 10th.

The show also featured a singles clash between Penta and JD McDonagh, after their recent encounters. Penta defeated McDonagh while fending off interferences from Carlito, Finn Balor, and Chad Gable. Following the win, he was awarded an Intercontinental title rematch against the Champion Dominik Mysterio at Backlash.

‘The Celtic Warrior’ Sheamus made his return on the show as he was revealed as the mystery opponent for Austin Theory, who was baited into the match by his own tag partner Grayson Waller, while Rusev, in his in-ring return after five years, decimated Otis and attacked Akira Tozawa after the dominant showing.

Furthermore, Iyo Sky pinned Roxanne Perez in a singles match, however, she was ambushed by Giulia and Perez after the match as no one came to her defense. In the main event of the show, World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso defended the title against Seth Rollins in an impromptu match.

The title clash was an instant classic with both stars pushing each other to the brink of human toughness. Sami Zayn appeared during the match to even out the numbers game and attacked Bron Breakker, who, in turn, took out Zayn and Jey. Just when it looked like it was over for Jey, CM Punk made his return.

Punk took out Breakker and attacked Rollins, ending the match in disqualification. He also thwarted another attempt by Breakker as Rollins and Breakker retreated with Heyman, and the show came to an end.

During the go-home show, the promotion announced multiple matches for the next week’s show, which will serve as the fallout show for Backlash 2025. The May 12 show of Monday Night Raw is set to emanate live from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

After weeks of build-up, Iyo Sky will team up with Rhea Ripley to battle the team of Giulia and Roxanne Perez next week. Finn Balor will also take care of the AJ Styles problem for his Judgment Day stablemate and Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio, as he will battle Styles in Louisville.

As demanded by War Raiders (Erik & Ivar), they will battle American Made (Julius & Brutus Creed) in a tag team match; the winner of the match will challenge the current WWE World Tag Team Champions, the New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston).
