The Royal Rumble PLE was introduced in 1988

The Royal Rumble PLE was first introduced in 1988 by the Stamford-based promotion and is one of the WWE’s five biggest events of the year along with Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, Survivor Series & WrestleMania.

Royal Rumble is a professional wrestling match featuring Battle Royal rules, where competitors eliminate others by throwing them over the top rope. Typically, 30 participants take part, with two starting the match and new wrestlers entering every 90 seconds until all 30 are in the ring.

Although it is not guaranteed, the participant who enters later has the highest chance of winning. It was originally only contested in the men’s division but in 2018 the promotion introduced the match for the women’s division.

Since its inception, the Royal Rumble PLE has traditionally been held in late January. However, the 2025 edition is set for early February, the event will return to its familiar January slot next year.

Multiple big names such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar, and Triple H have won the Rumble match in their WWE career. Winning the match is one of the biggest achievements of one’s career and over the years, there have been a handful of stars who have won the Rumble multiple times.

Here we will take a look at the list of stars who have won the Rumble match and are currently on the WWE roster.

Royal Rumble Winners Currently on the WWE Roster

Among the current roster, a total of fourteen stars are Royal Rumble winners while three of them are multi-time Rumble winners including John Cena, Randy Orto,n and Cody Rhodes.

‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes is also the only star on the current roster to bag back-to-back victories in the Rumble match. Jey Uso joined the list of legends as he bagged the win in the 2025 men’s Rumble match.

Charlotte Flair also made her return at the 2025 women’s Rumble match and became the only woman to win two Rumble matches.
