The first Raw of 2026 will feature three title showdowns.
As the calendar flipped to 2026, WWE kicked off the new year with momentum, mystery, and massive implications ahead of WrestleMania 42. The promotion started the year with the January 2 edition of SmackDown and will follow it up with the January 5 edition of Monday Night Raw.
The first Monday Night Raw of 2026 is set to emanate live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Multiple top stars, including CM Punk, Rhea Ripley, Penta, and Jey Uso, are advertised for the special Stranger Things–themed edition of Raw.
The episode will also commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Red Brand’s debut on Netflix, which premiered on January 6, 2025, signaling a new era for WWE. Three title showdown along with the in-ring return of Liv Morgan has been announced for the show.
One of the biggest threats to CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship reign will now stand in front of him inside the squared circle this Monday as Punk puts the starp on the line against The Vision’s Bron Breakker.
Breakker was awarded the title shot after he pinned Punk in the men’s WarGames match at the WWE Survivor Series PLE in November.
Furthermore, the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) will defend the Women’s Tag Team titles against the team of Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. The challengers are the favorites going into the match, after Sky pinned Sane in an eight-woman tag team match, involving Asuka and Ripley, on last week’s SmackDown.
Following her return two weeks earlier, Becky Lynch is hungry to get back the win against Maxxine Dupri and reclaim the Women’s Intercontinental title. Following her return on the December 22 show, the title rematch was announced for the Brooklyn show. Dupri will defend the Intercontinental title in another showdown with the veteran.
Additionally, since her return, Liv Morgan has vowed to put Judgment Day back in control of the Red brand and is vowing to bring back gold to the faction, restoring the glory once again.
Amid tensions and a rift with Raquel Rodriguez, she is now set to make her in-ring return on WWE Programming for the first time since her injury in June. Morgan will battle Lyra Valkyria in a singles match.
