WWE held a major media event at Netflix headquarters

On Tuesday, December 3, WWE and Netflix held a joint media event at Netflix’s headquarters in Los Angeles, California. Along with Triple H and Nick Khan, WWE superstars Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, and The Miz attended the event.

Becky Lynch attended the celebrations with her husband, Seth Rollins. Lynch’s appearance is remarkable because she has been away from WWE and wrestling in general since May.

Lynch has kept a low profile about her future in the sport throughout her absence. As recently as last month, ‘The Man’ claimed that she is unsure when she will return to wrestling.

When “Raw,” WWE’s weekly live program, debuts on Netflix next month, it may take place on a far wider scale than it does now on cable television.

The sports entertainment company is leaving its current home on the USA Network, which averaged 688,000 viewers in prime time last year, for a network with around 283 million users globally, according to Nielsen.

Netflix’s decision to partner with the WWE is part of a deliberate attempt to stream more live events following the phenomenally successful bout between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, which was seen by over 60 million people.

According to Nielsen, “Raw” has averaged around 1.5 million viewers on USA Network over the last month. Since its beginning in 1993, WWE has produced hundreds of episodes of “Raw,” including stars like as Seth Rollins, CM Punk, and Rhea Ripley. Before WWE negotiated a deal with Netflix worth more than $5 billion, “Raw” and the media rights that came with it were in high demand.

In addition to a bigger pool of possible viewers, going to Netflix eliminates the WWE’s concerns about curse words being muted, potentially violent sequences being blurred, or provocative or vulgar gestures being obscured.

And, as it has done throughout its history, WWE has pushed the transfer to Netflix across several media to broaden its audience.
