The Royal Rumble PLE kicks off the PLE season for the Stamford-based promotion and sets the stage for WrestleMania. The PLE features two Royal Rumble matches in the men’s and women’s divisions. Since its inception in 1988, the PLE only featured men’s Rumble matches.
The women’s Rumble match was added in 2018 and since then the PLE has featured two matches in both divisions. Every year multiple stars dream of winning the match in order to get a title shot and headline the grandest stage.
The PLE is usually held in late January with the only exception being 2025 when the PLE will be held in early February. Typically, the Rumble match headlines the PLE, although there have been several exceptions over the years, including 1988, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2006, 2013, and 2023 events.
The Royal Rumble is a professional wrestling match that follows Battle Royal rules, where participants eliminate opponents by tossing them over the top rope. The match usually features 30 competitors, with two wrestlers starting, and new entrants joining every 90 seconds until all participants are in the ring.
While there are multiple stars who have won the Rumble match twice, some even have won two consecutive times while others have the most eliminations or appearances. There is also a particular league of stars who have only appeared in the Rumble match once in their career.
Here we will take a look at the WWE stars who have only participated in the illustrious Rumble match only once.

While the majority of these stars have either retired or have parted ways with the Stamford-based promotion. There are still a handful of stars who are still working in some capacity or are out of action nursing their injuries.
Stars like Logan Paul have already announced his entry into the 2025 Rumble match and more stars who are still with the promotion will likely break this unwanted record and participate in their second Rumble match.
