Here is the quick status of The Rock & Roman Reigns ahead of WWE SmackDown season premiere!
The Rock and Roman Reigns are two of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Rock and Roman worked together on the road to WrestleMania XL, where Rock acknowledged Roman as his Tribal Chief and became a member of the Bloodline. Following that, both teamed up to have a tag team match against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins and won the match. The Rock stood as a backbone for Roman during his title defense, but Cody managed to dethrone Roman for the Undisputed title.
After which both went on a long hiatus and were not seen then. Roman made his return at SummerSlam, but he was taken out within the next two weeks by the new Bloodline. As SmackDown’s Season Premiere is held this week, here we take a look at whether The Rock and Roman Reigns are returning to WWE SmackDown this Friday on September 13, 2024.
Roman Reigns WWE return
The USA Network, which is the new official broadcast partner of Friday Night SmackDown officially announced that the ‘Original Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns will be making his WWE return this Friday on September 13, 2024 at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, United States. This will be Roman’s first appearance on SmackDown in almost a month after he was taken away by the new Bloodline led by Solo Sikoa. Roman was taken out by the numbers game and the rumors suggest he might return with Jimmy Uso for the backup.
With Roman making his return, Solo Sikoa is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship inside a steel cage match. The rumors suggest that Roman could interfere during the match and cost Solo his title shot, despite the new Bloodline.
The Rock’s WWE return
As Roman is set to return this Friday, there is also a big expectation among WWE fans that they could see The Rock appearing on the show and the hints tease that he might. Triple H on X/Twitter announced that Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa will be opening the USA premiere of SmackDown and hinted that there is more to come on the show.
To Triple H’s post on X, the TKO Group has reacted with the eyes emoji. Since Rock is one of the members of the TKO group, most of them believe that the one who reacted to the post might be Rock and it’s a hint for his SmackDown return.
Rock last appeared on WWE during the Raw after WrestleMania XL, where he confronted Cody Rhodes for a future match for the title. Since Cody’s title is defended on the line, this raises the anticipation for the return of The Final Boss.
