Erick Rowan is an American professional wrestler, who was in WWE from 2011 to 2020. He is better known for his work as a member of The Wyatt Family including Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Braun Strowman. He is a two-time WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion and one-time NXT Tag Team Champion.
He was released from WWE in 2020 as a part of the budget cuts. He appeared on AEW after Luke Harper’s (Brodie Lee) demise under the name Erick Redbeard. He also appeared in WWE after Bray Wyatt’s death to pay tribute.
Since there is a rumor of Bo Dallas continuing with Bray Wyatt’s Uncle Howdy storyline. Erick Rowan’s return and being a part of the storyline are often rumored. Now a couple of backstage reports suggest that, he will be making his WWE return soon.
Erick Rowan canceled ECPW appearance
East Coast Pro Wrestling on their Facebook account recently wrote that former WWE star Erick Rowan will not be making his scheduled appearance at Coal Town Carnage next week. It was said that the new contractual obligations are preventing him from making his appearance. This is the first time in the history of ECPW, a scheduled star’s appearance is getting canceled.
ECPW on Facebook wrote,
“We have just received word this evening from Erick Rowan that unfortunately he will not be able to make his scheduled appearance next week at Coal Town Carnage.”
“Erick stated that new contractual obligations are preventing him from making several dates including ours. This is the first time in ECPW history that one of our scheduled stars canceled and it is out of our control.”
“With that being said, the show will still feature Former WWE Superstar Brian Kendrick, the debut of Vanessa Kraven plus all of the superstars of East Coast Pro Wrestling. Three title matches, a New Waterford Rumble and much more goes down next Saturday at The New Waterford & District Community Center.”
Erick Rowan is sent for WWE medical testing
Following that, PWInsider reported that Rowan was spotted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this past week, where the WWE talents are often sent to undergo medical testing, before being signed.
It is important to note that WWE has begun Uncle Howdy’s return tease recently with the glitches and the hidden message “hello”, “you forgot about us”. Considering all these, it seems like Erick Rowan will be making his WWE return soon, and could potentially be a part of the Uncle Howdy storyline, however nothing is official yet.
