Backstage report on WWE potentially hosting primetime special on NBC

WWE set to announce a primetime special show as a part of the SmackDown deal!
WWE is one of the biggest professional wrestling promotions, which has a huge fan base all across the world. As the company is at its peak growth, the company has made a number of changes and contractual deals to make it a better product than ever.
The company is currently in the final phase with its ongoing broadcasters as WWE Raw is moving to Netflix in 2025, SmackDown is moving back to USA Network next week and NXT moving to The CW network next month for a multi-year deal. The recent reports reveal that WWE will also make his return to NBC for a Primetime Special as a part of the multi-year deal.
WWE Primetime Special on NBC
According to WrestleVotes latest reports, they have heard from the sources that WWE is all set to announce a live primetime NBC special show in the next few days. The location for the potential venue is unknown, however it reveals that the tickets will go on sale from next Friday. Based on the internal speculations, he heard that the show is being planned to be held on a Saturday Night in December.
WrestleVotes wrote,
“WWE is set to announce a live primetime special on @NBC in the next few days. While the location remains unknown, sources say tickets are set to go on sale next Friday. We’ve heard some internal speculation about a Saturday night in December. This will be WWE’s first primetime NBC special since August 2, 2008.”
If this is made official, this will be the first WWE prime NBC special event to be held since August 2, 2008. It is reported that the company’s deal with NBCU for SmackDown to return to the USA Network from Fox includes primetime specials. Based on the rumors, the company’s five year deal with NBCU (parent company of the USA Network) incorporates WWE to produce four primetime specials per year on NBC.
The company previously hosted two prime special events for NBC including the Saturday Night’s Main Event and the Tribute to the Troops Specials. Based on this, fans speculate that the event could be held under the name of Saturday Night Main Event. On the other hand, the online fans speculated that it could be an alternative for a Premium Live Event in the month of December, as no other PLE featured in the month after Survivor Series PLE on November 30th.
