WWE SmackDown leaves Fox Network after a five-year-long history!

WWE SmackDown is one of the flagship weekly television shows hosted by WWE since 1999. The show has been running on Friday Nights since the blue brand signed a deal with Fox in 2019.

WWE SmackDown on Fox produced some of the greatest moments in the history of the company. As SmackDown is moving back to USA Network from a five-year-long tenure on Fox, here we take a look at the top five best moments on WWE SmackDown on Fox Network.

5. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens reunite

On the March 17, 2023, episode of SmackDown, Sami Zayn brawled with Jey Uso in the middle of the ring. Jimmy popped out and joined hands with Jey to attack Sami.

As The Usos put Sami in a two-on-one attack, Kevin Owens’ music played. Owens came from behind to attack the Usos and made them retreat. After clearing the ring, Owens went on to hug Sami to finally reunite with him after years.

4. The Rock’s in-ring concert

On the March 15, 2024, episode of SmackDown, The Final Boss Rock hosted a live in-ring concert in Memphis.

Rock sang the song addressing his WrestleMania opponents Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Cody Cry babies and what he was gonna do to them at WrestleMania.

Rock made the concert entertaining and sent a message to Cody’s mom ‘Mama Rhodes’, saying that Cody would be coming home with the belt, but not the Universal title. Instead, he would come home with the weight belt full of blood.

3. Bloodline explodes

On June 16, 2023, The Bloodline gathered inside the ring for a Tribal Court session questioning Jimmy Uso. The Bloodline tried to separate the Usos by asking Jey to stay with Roman and kick Jimmy off the Bloodline.

Jey questioned Jimmy to his face and said that he was out and said, so did him and super-kicked Roman Reigns. Solo tried to attack the Usos but The Usos took Solo and Roman to make the statement.

2. The Rock’s return

On the September 15, 2023, episode of SmackDown, Pat McAfee made his surprise return and was caught in an argument with Austin Theory on whose show it is.

McAfee said that it is not both their shows, but it’s a people’s show. McAfee asked him what the people show meant and gave a pause, where The Rock made his WWE return. It was the first appearance of Rock since October 2019, after years of rumors.

Rock confronted Theory and made fun of him. Theory mocked The People’s champ, which resulted in a verbal assault on Theory and then a brawl. The People’s Champ delivered the People’s Elbow on Theory and made his return one of the special moments in the history of the blue brand.

1. Fox Premiere

On October 4, 2019, WWE SmackDown officially made its debut on Fox on the show’s 20th anniversary. It was also the blue brand’s return to the Friday Nights. The Premiere Show was a WrestleMania-worthy show featuring greatness.

A brand new set debuted for the SmackDown brand and several top stars featured on the show. Becky Lynch and The Rock kicked off SmackDown to attack Baron Corbin.

Kevin Owens ended Shane McMahon’s in-ring career (kayfabe), Brock Lesnar won the WWE Championship from Kofi Kingston in just seven seconds and much more happened on the show making it one of the best moments on Fox.
