Jey Uso's top seven best WWE matches of all-time

“Main Event” Jey Uso is one of the biggest WWE stars
In recent years, Jey Uso has really forged an identity of his own in the WWE, treated as an entity separate from his twin brother. Many might argue he is the one who has benefited the most from the Bloodline story after Roman Reigns. rom
The entire “Main Event” Jey Uso gimmick and then becoming the “Yeet Man” ever since he broke apart from the WWE has worked tremendously in his favor. He is consistently selling out merchandise for the WWE and is tremendously over among the fans.
Most recently, he won the Intercontinental Championship against Bron Breakker on an episode of Monday Night Raw. The singles title win meant so much more as he was consistently involved in such matches by the WWE, and he would always come up short. And that is exactly what people expected to happen with Bron, but that wasn’t the case. Jey Uso won the Intercontinental Championship and successfully defended it against Xavier Woods last week, which was his first title defense.
Jey Uso, the veteran, has been in the WWE for over a decade now and has been involved in a lot of memorable bouts. While we would try to focus more on his singles matches, there is no point ignoring the fact that he was on a tag team for the majority of his career, and hence his best matches mostly came as a team.
Here are the seven best Jey Uso matches:
Jey Uso vs Roman Reigns (WWE Clash of Champions 2020)
This was Roman Reigns’ first title defense in what would go down as the longest title reign in the modern era. This was Jey Uso stepping up to his cousin, trying to prove the fact that he can actually hold his own and defeat Roman Reigns.
The storytelling in this match was an absolute masterclass. Roman Reigns carried the match with his antics and trash talks. The story that was told was that Roman was constantly battling his inner good side to finally become the monster that he would eventually become, who could go to any length to retain his championship.
The match was not a five-star classic by any means, but the storytelling and the relevance of the match in the Bloodline saga make it stand out.
Jey Uso vs Roman Reigns (WWE Hell in a Cell 2020)
Jey Uso vs Roman Reigns Part 2 was taking place inside Hell in a Cell. This was one of those matches that didn’t require a cell but was taking place inside one since the PLE demanded so. Hence, the cell wasn’t really used in the match.
However, the drama and storytelling in this match were enhanced by ten folds in this match. Roman Reigns delivered a supreme cinematic performance as he was crying in the middle of the ring, thinking of the monster that he had turned into. The involvement of Jimmy Uso was like a cherry on top. Jey Uso played his part really well as the valiant babyface before he fell in line and started doing Roman’s dirty work for him.
Team Cody vs The Judgement Day (WWE Survivor Series 2023)
This was when the “Yeet Man” quit the Bloodline and joined the red brand, trying to put the past behind him and succeed as a singles competitor. He was extremely over among the fans too, and hence he was part of the Babyface super team consisting of Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton battling against the heel faction of The Judgement Day.
Jey Uso played an important role in the match as Drew McIntyre joined The Judgement Day in that match only to exact vengeance against the former Bloodline member. Additionally, there was also some tension between Randy Orton and Uso.
Overall, the match was great, maybe not as hardcore as a few of the war games matches in the past, but the crowd was very much into it and made up for a great main event.
The Usos vs The New Day vs. Lucha Dragons (WWE TLC 2015)
Maybe not on the same level, but the closest that the WWE has ever gotten ever since the iconic Edge and Christian vs. The Dudley Boyz vs The Hardy Boys tag team bout at WrestleMania 17. This match was a crazy spot fest, and every participant involved had their moments to shine, and they blew it out of the park.
The closing spot of the match where Kalisto hit his finisher through a ladder is one of the most breathtaking moments in the history of the company.
The only downside to this match, which is also the reason why most people don’t remember this match, is that it lacked proper storytelling.
The Usos vs Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa (WWE Money in the Bank 2023)
This was the first match in which Roman Reigns would get pinned in four years, and it would happen courtesy of his former right-hand man, Jey Uso. That in itself makes it a significant landmark in modern WWE, but the storytelling in this match was also near perfection.
This was after both Jimmy and Jey had turned on Roman Reigns, refusing to be a part of his Bloodline anymore. This would set up the match at Money in the Bank with an electrifying UK crowd. Like any other Bloodline match, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa dominated the majority of this match as The Usos would wait and build up their comeback.
The crowd was super behind The Usos and rallied them up for the majority of the match. The match had iconic near falls, the tease of Roman stacking the twins and pinning them only for them to kick out in the near end, and finally, the monumental climax where Jey Uso would pin Reigns to take the victory for his team.
The Usos vs The New Day (WWE Hell in a Cell 2017)
If any tag team rivalry in 2017 deserved to have a Hell in a Cell match, it was certainly this one. The physicality and intensity of this match were gruesome, and the spot where Jey Uso was trapped in the corner of the cell on the receiving end of kendo stick shots was brutal, to say the least.
The Usos were evil heels at the time, and Xavier Woods and Big E rose to the same level to fight them off. In the end, The Usos still managed to take the win inside the cell. It is considered one of the best tag team matches of all time, and rightfully so.
The Usos vs Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens (WWE WrestleMania 39)
The best match of Jey Uso’s career would come on the grandest of occasions: the main event of WrestleMania 39, defending the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships against the team of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. This would also be the first time where the tag team championships would be defended in the main event spot of WrestleMania.
The storyline around this match was probably one of the greatest stories in the history of the company. The crowd was into it, and Sami Zayn was over on another level at that time. The match gained momentum pretty quickly, and it looked like both teams were desperate for the win.
Sami Zayn’s inner turmoil in putting his past brotherhood with The Bloodline aside to finally do the right thing was great to watch. In the end, Sami Zayn put down Jey Uso and scored the pinfall on him to win the tag team gold.
It was an unbelievable moment as the crowd cheered for Sami after he finally got his revenge on The Bloodline. The match had everything: the story, the audience reactions, the unpredictability, and the near falls. In all ways, it was perfect and can indeed be called Jey Uso’s best match in his WWE career up until now.
