The year 2024 has witnessed some of the best storylines produced by the company in years.

WWE has been breaking ground with their significant traction, numbers and compelling storylines that have actually made professional wrestling cool. As the year 2024 began, the company has produced intriguing stories with larger-than-life characters that have captivated the audience like no other.

With 2024 still on the move for more developments, here is a look at five WWE storylines that have hooked the hardcore fanbase of wrestling in the year so far:

5. Sami Zayn vs Chad Gable

The story of Sami Zayn and Chad Gable began as allies, with Gable assisting him in his training for a mega clash against Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. After Zayn’s win, Gable got the first chance at the title but failed in his attempt. This led to him turning heel and captivating the audience with his new persona, which led to another showdown with Zayn. However, he was unsuccessful again at WWE Clash at the Castle, ending their storyline.

4. Bayley vs IYO Sky

Bayley and IYO Sky had a spectacular run as members of Damage CTRL until The Role Model won the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match. This led to Bayley choosing to battle IYO for her Women’s title after finding out her true intentions and fighting a war alone against IYO Sky and the rest of Damage CTRL members. Bayley fought the odds and ultimately triumphed at WrestleMania 40 to clinch her big victory moment.

3. Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk

The onset of 2024 saw Drew McIntyre’s popularity skyrocket, courtesy of his rivalry with CM Punk that began at the 2024 Royal Rumble event. Even though the duo has not even faced each other in a match, the rivalry has made headlines like no other following run-ins, multiple back-and-forths and slight physicalities.

The most recent chapter saw Punk costing McIntyre another World Championship opportunity in his home country of Scotland at WWE Clash at the Castle with the expectation of a highly anticipated match to go down between them at WWE SummerSlam 2024.

2. Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley

Liv Morgan began her “Liv Morgan Revenge Tour” hoping to snatch everything from her heated rival, Rhea Ripley. In the process, she first took away her WWE Women’s World title and now has her sights set on luring away Rhea’s Latino Heat, Dominik Mysterio. From a controversial kiss to weekly advances and massive social media stalking, Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio’s storyline has become one of the most talked about programs on WWE television.

1. Cody Rhodes vs The Bloodline

A story one year in the making reached its grand conclusion at WrestleMania 40 as Cody Rhodes worked his way up from his crushing loss at WrestleMania 39 to clinch the biggest victory of his life, defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Rhodes’ journey saw multiple obstacles by The Bloodline, Reigns himself and their iconic ally, The Rock. But his grit, determination and perseverance led him to overcome the odds and become the new Undisputed WWE champion in grand fashion to “Finish The Story.”
