Three major stars including Bobby Lashley were released from WWE’s internal roster!
WWE has been keen on hiring and firing talents and has made many changes inside the company. In 2023, we witnessed several wrestlers being released as free agents and signed some of the hottest free agents from the rival promotions.
The contract release continued earlier this year with WWE releasing some major stars and a former World Champion. Now the backstage report reveals a disappointing report with the internal release of a former world champion and two other company veterans.
Major stars removed from the internal roster
According to PWNexus’ latest report, Bobby Lashley, Tamina & MVP have been released from WWE’s internal roster.
Following that Fightful Select gave an update regarding Lashley’s contract saying that Lashley’s WWE contract is expected to expire within the next month, or will possibly be up as soon as within the next few weeks. It is said that there are no contract negotiations with Lashley yet and there are no creative plans for him. Lashley did not wrestle until May 2024 and was written off from WWE TV.
Fightful’s report confirms that Bobby Lashley will continue wrestling, although the contract extension is not agreed with WWE. The sources note that Lashley could try to have his hand at MMA again, and there is a realm of possibility.
Bobby Lashley made his return to WWE in 2018, after ten years away from the Stamford-based company. Lashley’s second run made him a two-time WWE Champion, two-time Intercontinental Champion and a two-time United States Champion.
Following that, PWNexus reported that Tamina & MVP were also released from the internal roster. Both MVP and Tamina have been away from WWE TV for a very long time. Tamina was away from WWE TV for a very long time after the 2023 Royal Rumble, however, she was working backstage.
On the other hand, MVP has been the manager for Omos and was last seen during the Royal Rumble 2024, where he accompanied Omos to the ring. The sources reveal that both MVP & Tamina are expected, however Lashley’s release could be a shock.
