Bronson Reed is currently part of the Red brand
Bronson Reed has catapulted to the top of the WWE mid-card and established himself as WWE’s new monster. He is coming fresh off a rivalry against the “Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman, and even though he was on the losing end of the rivalry, he came out as the ultimate winner, as he is set to face Seth Rollins in his next rivalry.
This is his biggest opportunity in the main roster so far and provided he can match Seth Rollins on the microphone and deliver good in-ring matches, he can stay on top of the card in the near future.
Bronson Reed signed with WWE all the way back in 2019, where he performed in the NXT brand for two years, even capturing the NXT North American Championship for 42 days. Thereafter, he left for NJPW and IMPACT before re-signing with WWE in 2022. He has been part of the red brand ever since and has wrestled in a lot of matches for the brand.
Let’s take a look at the very best Bronson Reed matches in WWE:
Bronson Reed, Nash Carter, and Wes Lee vs Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza, and Santos Escobar – NXT TakeOver: In Your House 2021 – NXT North American Championship and NXT Tag Team Championships
In the build-up to this match, MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) successfully defended their NXT Tag Team Championship against Legado Del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza), after an assist from NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed, who took down Santos Escobar during the match.
The following week, Escobar proposed a winner-takes-all match for the NXT North American Championship and NXT Tag Team Championships at TakeOver: In Your House, which Reed and MSK had accepted.
The match was great, and in the climax, Reed tackled Escobar against one of the plexiglass walls, MSK performed their elevated corkscrew blockbuster on Mendoza, followed by Reed performing the “Tsunami” on Mendoza to retain their respective championships.
Bronson Reed vs Johnny Gargano vs Roderick Strong – NXT TV Taping, July 14th, 2020
This was a stunning match that led Bronson Reed to the biggest win of his career at that point. The Australian looked formidable thanks to the amazing work of ringmasters Roderick Strong and Johnny Gargano who were also involved in the match.
WWE made excellent use of Bronson Reed in the match too, being able to put him in with two vets who can do the brunt of the work while allowing Reed to get in dominant offense against his smaller opponents. The match had great spots and a surprising finish with the underdog Reed going over.
Johnny Gargano vs Bronson Reed – NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver – Day 2, April 8th, 2021 – NXT North American Championship
This was not one of those iconic Johnny Gargano TakeOver matches, yet it is one of the best matches of Bronson Reed’s career. This in itself shows how great Johnny Gargano really is.
Bronson Reed was really good in this match, and for Johnny Gargano, it was just another day in the office. The match had an interesting continuity of working over Bronson Reed’s midsection after he took a nasty bump on the apron and a 450 splash.
In the end, Johnny Gargano would defeat Reed by pinfall to retain his NXT North American Championship.
5-Way Ladder Match – NXT TakeOver XXX, August 22nd, 2020 – NXT North American Championship
At NXT TakeOver XXX, the vacant North American Championship was decided in a five-way ladder match featuring Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, Cameron Grimes, Johnny Gargano, and The Velveteen Dream as the participants.
Midway through the match, Reed performed a suicide dive onto Grimes, Gargano, and Priest, prompting Gargano’s wife, Candice LeRae, to come out and check on her husband. Grimes was taken out of the match when Gargano used a powerbomb on him from a ladder onto another ladder. Dream was thrown out into the audience on the concrete floor.
LeRae would become more heavily involved in the match by preventing Grimes from grabbing the title. She also tried to stop Reed from grabbing the title as well but suffered greatly once Reed jumped from the ladder with LeRae on his back, splashing Gargano.
In the end, Priest shoved Gargano off the ladder and unhooked the belt to win the title.
Sami Zayn vs Bronson Reed vs Chad Gable – WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024, May 25th, 2024 – WWE Intercontinental Championship
Bronson Reed was just third-wheeling Sami Zayn and Chad Gable in this entire rivalry, and his presence didn’t really matter, but this still goes down as one of his very best matches in the main roster. The match was great, and Reed looked really dominant in the early goings before Sami Zayn and Chad Gable created a temporary alliance to take him down.
The most memorable spot from the match has to be the double German suplex executed by the three men. In the end, Sami Zayn would retain the Intercontinental Championship by hitting Reed with a Helluva Kick and then pinning him for the three count.
Bronson Reed vs Braun Strowman – Last Monster Standing Match – WWE Monday Night Raw, September 30th, 2024
One of the most recent and notable matches of Bronson Reed’s career was his Last Monster Standing match against Braun Strowman on the 30th September episode of Monday Night Raw. After wreaking havoc in the red brand for several weeks in an attempt to one-up each other, the two monsters, Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman, were booked to face each other in a Last Monster Standing match in the main event of Raw.
To say the match exceeded all expectations would be an understatement. The match was exactly what it needed to be: two mammoths clashing and destroying everything in their way. Security guards and fans were taken down, barricades were broken, and the ring exploded.
The match culminated when Seth Rollins made his return and stomped Bronson Reed on the steel steps while Braun Strowman stood tall, defeating Reed for the ten count.
Gunther vs Bronson Reed – WWE Monday Night Raw, October 16th, 2023 – WWE Intercontinental Championship
Is it really that big of a surprise that Bronson Reed’s best match in the WWE so far came against the likes of Gunther? In the season premiere of Raw in 2023, Gunther defended his Intercontinental Championship against Bronson Reed.
The two behemoths went to war, matching each other blow for blow. Throughout the match, Gunther would try to go for the powerbomb on several occasions but would fail to lift up the heavy Reed, who would then take advantage.
In the ending moments, however, Reed would head to the top rope and go for a Tsunami, but Gunther moved. Gunther connected with a Tyrannosaurus Dropkick before following up with a clothesline. Gunther then went to the top rope and flew off with a splash for a near fall.
Finally, Gunther set Reed up and hit an insanely perfect powerbomb on the massive Reed for the win. This was easily Bronson Reed’s best match in his WWE career.
