CM Punk is one of the most popular and influential professional wrestlers of all time. The Second City Saint after almost ten years long, returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 PLE. Punk’s return made a huge reaction in the wrestling world and was considered one of the greatest returns of all time.
Punk made his in-ring return at Royal Rumble 2024 and was so close from winning the rumble. However ended up as runner-up, as Cody Rhodes picked-up the win by eliminating Punk. CM Punk not only lost the match, but also tore his right tricep muscle, which cost his WrestleMania 40 main eventing dream.
Punk’s injury spoiled the WrestleMania plans, as Punk went on rehabilitation. The Second City Saint, although being in recovery, came back two weeks before WrestleMania 40.
He also played a guest commentator role on Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Championship match on Night 2 and eventually cost Drew McIntyre’s world championship title. CM Punk upon return has now posed for a Thirst Trap photoshoot with fellow WWE stars backstage.
CM Punk poses ‘Thirst Traps’
CM Punk recently posed ‘Thirst Trap’ photos with WWE stars and backstage anchors, Cathy Kelly & Jackie Redmond in the backstage of Wells Fargo Center, where Raw after WrestleMania 40 took place.
All the three posed with an all-black attire. Cathie Kelly on her Instagram posted three photos of the Thirst Traps photoshoot, with the caption saying, “Someone on the internet said they wanted a picture of @jackieredmond and me together… well we see you & raise you one @cmpunk #zoolandercouldnever @themattycox”
For those who don’t know what a thirst trap is? Thirst Trap is a type of social media post intended to attract attention or validation.
CM Punk on the same day when he posed for the Thirst Trap, he cost Drew McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender’s match, by interfering in the Fatal 4-Way Match. CM Punk came from underneath the ring to grab Drew McIntyre’s leg, when he was about to hit Jey Uso with Claymore. This distracted McIntyre, where Jey Uso used the distraction to superkick, spear and splash to win the match.
He also cut a promo after the show went off air, saying that he would be back in boots when WWE comes to Philadelphia again.
