CM Punk & Drew McIntyre are into a big-time rivalry!
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are the better rivals in the red brand, who have been feuding with each other since the beginning of the year. Both had a tough run, unable to have their hands on each other. They had their first match at SummerSlam 2024, where Drew McIntyre picked up the win and took Punk’s bracelet again from him.
Most thought that their rivalry was over, but Punk made it clear that things wouldn’t settle until he got his bracelet back from McIntyre. At this stage, a backstage report suggests that the sequel match between these could involve major stipulations.
CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre match stipulation
According to Ibou of Wrestle Purists, they have heard from multiple sources within WWE, that the company has been planning for a Strap match between CM Punk & Drew McIntyre at the 2024 Bash in Berlin PLE. The match has not been officially announced by the company yet, however, there is a high chance for the Strap match to happen between these two.
McIntyre & Punk have been playing a cat-and-mouse role for a very long time. When one shows up another escapes. Both trigger each other from a distance, which leads them to chase each other all over the arena.
Earlier this week on Raw (August 12, 2024), both brawled with Drew’s belt playing a major role. Drew tried to attack Punk with the belt, but Punk struck him back, whipping the belt all over his back. After the match, Punk gave an interview backstage saying that Drew had been running from him, but he now has figured out a way and pointed to the belt.
After the show, Drew posted the aftermath of Punk’s attack on him, with the belt marks and blood. Since both are seemingly selling the belt, there is a high chance that their upcoming match could involve a belt (strap) with both their hands tied. Making it clear that their rematch could end up in a Strap Match stipulation. However, no words have been officially spilled as we head to Bash in Berlin in the upcoming weeks.
