CM Punk vs Gunther ‘being considered’ for WWE Survivor Series 2024

CM Punk on the 9/2 episode of WWE Raw revealed that he is coming for gold!
CM Punk while making his WWE return back in November 2023, revealed that he came to WWE for a purpose. He said that he was not here to make friends but to do business and win the world championship as a process of finishing what he had started.
Punk had a big aim of main-eventing WrestleMania with a world championship match, but his dreams were shattered when Drew injured Punk during the Royal Rumble match and made him wait on the bench.
Drew took Punk’s spot and kept on teasing a feud with Punk so his WrestleMania dreams getting shattered. Drew used the opportunity to win the world title, but Punk screwed him after the match to lose his title within 5 minutes after the win. Punk then went on a long time rivalry with Drew McIntyre and had an equal score of 1-1 in the rivalry.
As most of them wondered, what could be the future of Punk, after he is done with Drew. Now a backstage report reveals major plans which has been in discussion within WWE for Punk in the upcoming events.
CM Punk vs Gunther for Survivor Series 2024
According to Viper Reports of PW Nexus, Gunther vs CM Punk is one of the few options being considered on the table for Survivor Series 2024 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Punk after his win against Drew at Bash in Berlin, appeared on a backstage interview and revealed that he is coming for the gold.
Following that in the 9/2 episode of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk revealed his intentions clearly referencing why he came back to the company and said that his aim is to get the World Heavyweight Championship. Punk also warned Gunther to watch out for him, and enjoy his title reign until he comes to him.
However Punk got brutally assaulted by Drew McIntyre and was carried through the stretcher, following the assault. This hints that Punk vs Drew rivalry is not over yet and Punk needs to end his rivalry before entering into the title bout.
On the other hand, Gunther was confronted by Sami Zayn later on the same show, who demanded a world title shot referring to the WrestleMania 40 win and following the foot paths of legends who captured the world title, by making IC title as a skipping stone. Although Gunther denied, the match is expected to happen before the potential match with Punk.
