CM Punk has only had a few matches since returning to WWE last year
‘Teh Second City Saint’ CM Punk is regarded as one of the biggest WWE superstars of the modern era. The Second City Saint rose to prominence in 2011 following his controversial ‘pipebomb’ promo that led him to the path of superstardom.
Despite facing some of the top names and carving out an impressive resume in WWE, Punk left WWE due to multiple frustrations in 2014 and was absent from the wrestling scene for seven years.
The Best in the World did return to wrestling in 2021 in AEW; however, that tenure lasted for two years. AEW President Tony Khan fired CM Punk due to a real-life backstage fight with Jack Perry.
This paved the way for his grand return to WWE at the 2023 Survivor Series event in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois.
What was CM Punk’s Win/Loss record in 2024?
CM Punk marked his return to in-ring action for WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble event. He participated in the name-sake over-the-top-rope battle royal and emerged as the runner-up after last being eliminated by Cody Rhodes. Moreover, Punk also suffered a torn triceps during the match at the hands of Drew McIntyre, which ruled him out of action for nearly seven months.
The Best in the World rehabbed and got medical clearance in July 2024. He then competed in his first televised singles match against his heated rival, Drew McIntyre.
However, his ego got the best of him, and an altercation with the Special Guest Referee, Seth Rollins, led to Punk losing the match to McIntyre.
The heated rivalry did not end there as the duo once again battled each other in a deadly Strap match at the WWE Bash in Berlin.
This time, Punk utilized the match stipulation to his advantage and exacted his revenge on Drew McIntyre by picking up the win. This marked CM Punk’s first victory in WWE in a decade.
The Second City Saint’s fourth match was at Bad Blood PLE against his fierce rival Drew McIntyre, Punk emerged victorious winning the feud 2-1. Following his win in the brutal Hell in a Cell match he took some time off from comeptition.
Punk made his return during the 11/22 episode of WWE SmackDown and joined the OG Bloodline as their fifth member for the WarGames clash at Survivor Series PLE.
The OG faction which consisted of Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn and CM Punk battled Solo Sikoa‘s Bloodline which consisted of Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Bronson Reed. The OG faction emerged victorious in the epic clash at the final PLE of 2024.
