Cody Rhodes is our current Undisputed WWE Champion
One month from now, undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will defend his championship against friend-turned-rival Kevin Owens. The two are scheduled to face battle in a Ladder match at the Royal Rumble on February 1, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Ahead of the annual spectacular, WWE will move its major shows to the Netflix streaming platform beginning January 6th. This is a first for any wrestling show. While Cody Rhodes remains on the SmackDown roster, anything might happen in the coming weeks due to the transfer window issue, which allows WWE Superstars to swap brands under certain situations.
Among all of these amazing events, The American Nightmare has announced all of his appearance dates for this month on social media. It turns out heâll be on Monday Night Raw for three episodes. However, it is unclear whether it is for the shows or he is only working the dark matches:
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens have been feuding for months, so maybe the Royal Rumble will put an end to it. But there is one significant question going into the event: will The Prizefighter defeat The American Nightmare so close to WrestleMania 41?
Rhodes returned to WWE in 2022 after six years with different wrestling companies. He has become the companyâs face and the leading babyface. He will now face Kevin Owens, with The Rock presumably his next opponent if he retains his championship at the Royal Rumble.
While Kevin Owens capturing the Undisputed WWE Championship coming into WrestleMania season seems unlikely, it is not impossible. There has been speculation of The American Nightmare confronting John Cena this year on the big stage. Cena is going on a Farewell Tour from January to December.
WWE personality Sam Roberts believes Kevin Owens should fight The Cenation Leader because his character has grown significantly since his 2015 debut, when he defeated the 47-year-old right away. Roberts stated that the âheartless, soullessâ Owens is the ideal opponent for the revered veteran.
