WWE has no plans to remove Cody Rhodes as the WWE Champion
‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes is the face of the company and is one of the top stars in the WWE since his return in 2022. His WrestleMania 40 win over Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship was a thudding statement of regime change in the Blue brand.
Recent reports suggest that Rhodes will hang on to his Undisputed title for the foreseeable future. The reports also suggest that the promotion is extremely happy with the Champion.
During an episode of WrestleVotes Radio, it was revealed that the Stamford-based promotion has no plans in the foreseeable future to remove Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
“There are no plans in the foreseeable future to remove the WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes. We did have a source say the company is in love with him being the new face of WWE the way John Cena was as that white meat babyface. Everyone can get behind that, especially kids and parents. WWE is extremely happy with Cody Rhodes for the time being as champion.”
During the conversation, it was revealed that Rhodes’ stardom is similar to John Cena and he is especially loved by the younger demographic. Similar to Cena, Cody has a huge fanbase which includes kids as well as parents.
Rhodes is now scheduled to appear on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The Undisputed Champion will address the WWE Universe about his future post his win at the Saudi PLE.
