A big turning point in the Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk held on WWE Raw this week

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have been having a heated rivalry since late 2023. They developed their storyline into one of the key driving factors of the company, despite being medically uncleared to compete.

Punk recently got cleared to compete and faced McIntyre at SummerSlam, but ended in vain as Drew pinned Punk for the win.

After which Punk called for a strap match at Bash in Berlin, claiming that the rivalry will never be over until he gets his bracelet back and also gets his bracelet after defeating Drew.

Although most believed that their rivalry was over, they continued their feud on the 9/2 Raw and Drew broke Punk’s bracelet and the rumors hint that the bracelet could be faced. Here is a quick fact-check on the rumors surrounding the bracelet.

What happened on the 9/2 WWE Raw?

On the September 02, 2024, episode of WWE Raw, CM Punk appeared in the middle of the ring for a live microphone session. Punk was extremely happy after defeating Drew McIntyre at Bash in Berlin and getting his bracelet back.

Punk then went on to say that he is done with McIntyre, after getting his bracelet back and looking to move on to pursue his world title dreams. Punk referenced what he said while making his return to WWE. Punk said that he came to do business and make money. However, instead of money, he wanted the gold.

Punk praised The Ring General Gunther, who had a rough match with Randy Orton and managed to win the match. Punk said that he was coming for the gold and advised Gunther to enjoy his title reign until he came for him. Punk made the statement clear and celebrated with the WWE Universe standing on the top of the announcement table.

While Punk was celebrating with the fans, Drew McIntyre popped out from under the ring and attacked Punk brutally. Wade Barrett who was on the commentary desk came to separate Drew, but the Scottish Warrior went out of control by performing a Claymore. Drew went on to throw Punk to the ring to deliver another Claymore and took his bracelet again only to break it into pieces. Drew tried to stuff the broken pieces into Punk’s mouth and delivered the third Claymore until the officials escorted Drew backstage.

Punk was carried in the stretcher, but Drew caught him in the middle and attacked the unconscious Punk again to cause him to bleed. After the show, there was a big rumor that Punk’s bracelet which got broken could be fake and here we explore the facts.

Was the broken CM Punk’s bracelet fake?

Following the event, there was circulating online fans that Punk had posted an Instagram story that the broken bracelet was their face, and he still had the real one.

However, the rumors seem to be fake, as Punk never posted any story after the show, and the broken bracelet is still revealed to be real. However, we need to wait and watch what happens in the future as the storyline so far carried only around the bracelet in recent times.

On the other hand, the WWE fan who made the bracelet for Punk reacted to it on X/Twitter overwhelming about the bracelet being a major part of the storyline and warned Drew to watch his back.

Drew McIntyre on the other hand, commented on her saying that Punk’s blood is in her hands.
