War Raiders defeated the Alpha Academy on their return

After a six-month absence from the ring, Erik and Ivar previously known as The Viking Raiders returned as the War Raiders. In their return, on this week of RAW, the tag team picked up a dominant win.

The team of Erik and Ivar defeated Akira Tozawa and Otis of the Alpha Academy on last night’s episode of RAW. The returning team defeated the Alpha Academy with ease to pick up their first win in their return after a long hiatus.

Their WWE return comes after a period of uncertainty due to Erik’s medical situation. He had to undergo surgery after he suffered a foot injury while Ivar competed in singles competition. However, Ivar’s stint in single competition didn’t go well.

Picking up their first win in their return the War Raiders have gained momentum and would look to build on that win to make their case for the World Tag Team Championship.

War Raiders could challenge the Tag Team Champions

The return of the team of Erik and Ivar adds more complexity to the Tag Team title picture. Following their win at the recent RAW episode, WWE announced two major contenders matches for the WWE World Tag Team Championship Contender Tournament.

According to the announcement during the episode of Monday Night RAW, the team of The New Day will take on The Authors Of Pain in the first round of the tournament.

While the team of Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee of the LWO will fight American Made’s Brutus and Julius Creed. The World Tag Team Championship is currently held by Judgement Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.

The WWE could push them into the Tag Team title picture as they already have RAW Tag Team titles and the NXT Tag Team titles to their name.

The World Tag Team Championship in their hands would establish themselves as one of the top dogs among the WWE Tag Teams. These two also have amazing chemistry which is a treat to watch them perform in the ring.

The War Raiders initially debuted in the ring as The Viking Experience back in 2019. The name was disliked and ridiculed by fans leading to a change in name to The Viking Raiders.

The return of the team of Erik and Ivar as War Raiders is a huge boost to the Tag Team landscape of RAW. The addition would also lead to a lot of interesting fights will fellow tag teams in the promotion.
