The remaining spot in the semi-finals will be decided on tonight’s Raw!
Only two spots are remaining in the King and Queen of the Ring tournament semi-finals, which will be filled on the June 16 episode of WWE Raw. The show is set to air live from the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
In the final match of the opening round of the King of the Ring tournament, Rusev, Sheamus, Bronson Reed, and Jey Uso will lock horns to battle for the final semi-final spot in the tournament.
The winner of this match will join Cody Rhodes, who secured his spot on last week’s SmackDown. Additionally, Sami Zayn and Randy Orton will battle in the second semi-final next week.
Similarly, in the final opening match of the Queen of the Ring Tournament, the returning star Asuka will lock horns with Ivy Nile, Raquel Rodriguez, and Stephanie Vaquer in a fatal four-way to decide the final participant in the semi-finals. The winner will join Alexa Bliss in the semi-finals.
The promotion, as usual, posted the match graphics ahead of last week’s SmackDown, but after the show, many fans pointed out that the promotion had already spoiled the results.
While the vertical orientation graphics were usual, many fans pointed to the horizontal graphics where the crown before the KOTR and QOTR text was on Cody Rhodes and Alexa Bliss, respectively. Rhodes and Bliss went on to win the match, which led many fans to connect the dots.
Similar to last week’s SmackDown, WWE had scheduled the two remaining opening round matches for both the King and Queen of the Ring tournament on Raw tonight. Following the graphics of the matches which were posted ahead of tonight’s show, fans began to speculate the same and started theorizing that Jey Uso and Stephanie Vaquer will emerge victorious as the positioning of the crown is on them.
However, the graphic placement likely had nothing to do with the actual results, as the graphics team is typically unaware of who will win. Match outcomes are kept as closely guarded secrets, and in some cases, even the participants themselves find out only shortly before the match, sometimes just moments ahead of time.
