Drew McIntyre will be facing Damian Priest at WrestleMania 41
WrestleMania 41 week is about to take over Las Vegas, and with the WWE Universe gearing up for the biggest wrestling spectacle of the year, Drew McIntyre has taken it upon himself to deliver a no-nonsense Public Service Announcement. If you mess this up, he says, “it’s your own fault.”
‘The Scottish Warrior’ took to social media to lay out some ground rules for fans making the trip to Sin City, and he didn’t sugarcoat a thing. His message? Respect the performers, respect the space, and for the love of all things holy, wear deodorant.
Let’s start with the DOs. Here’s what Drew McIntyre had to say.
“Be respectful to the wrestlers. Wear deodorant. Support the indy wrestling shows,” McIntyre said plainly — and that last one is big. Vegas will be flooded with independent promotions and up-and-coming talent putting on killer shows. Don’t sleep on those — go support the future of wrestling.
But then Drew McIntyre got real fast with the DON’Ts, and he did not hold back.
“Now, for the love of God, don’ts. Don’t hang around the airport with a bunch of merchandise to sign. It’s bullshit, it’s taking the piss, it’s taking advantage [of the situation],” he ranted. “It’s WrestleMania, there’s plenty of signings and photo-ops you can go along to. We’re just trying to get our stuff and say hi to a few people, say thank you for coming to Mania and go to our hotel to begin the biggest week of the year.”
That brings us to the next no-go zone: the hotel.
“Speaking of the hotel — f*** off! Stay away from the hotel. That’s a safe space. Imagine it’s our house, because it is our house for the week. We have our family and friends there. Some of the Superstars have kids, respect personal space.”
He capped it with a perspective-check:
“Would you like someone coming into your house, shoving a camera in your face and your kid’s face? Think of it that way.”
Drew McIntyre’s has a huge match ahead at WrestleMania 41 against Damian Priest, but before he throws any Claymores in the ring, he’s laid one out verbally for fans who can’t respect boundaries. So take the message to heart, WWE Universe: Be cool, stay fresh, support wrestling, and don’t be a creep. WrestleMania week should be unforgettable for the right reasons.
