‘The Scottish Psychopath’ has a long-standing feud with ‘The OTC’
Drew McIntyre has revealed why he is targeting ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns on WWE TV. ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ returned from his hiatus on WWE RAW on December 2, 2024, and has since been focused on bringing down the OG Bloodline.
The former World Heavyweight Champion released a video today on his X (aka Twitter) account explaining why he was targeting Roman Reigns. The veteran stated that he had not forgotten about being scammed out of the championship at Clash at the Castle 2022, and that more stars should be working to prevent the OTC from rising to power once more.
“The biggest question of all, why do I want to stop Roman [Reigns] if I’m only looking out for myself now? I would encourage others to do the same. Because I want the title, I was screwed out of it at Clash at the Castle in front of my friends and family. That loss cut deep, it took a long time to recover and honestly, I’m not recovered. Roman, I don’t know how you do it. You have magical powers. The company, fans, everyone wrapped around your finger,” said McIntyre. [From 2:05 – 2:30]
McIntyre will face Seth Rollins tonight on WWE Raw. Last year ahead of 2024 WWE Survivor Series, the Visionary declined to join Roman Reigns’ squad for the Men’s WarGames Match.
Drew McIntyre also spoke on his real-life problems with CM Punk
Drew McIntyre had a phenomenal 2024 and is already on fire as the Road to WrestleMania looms. He’ll face Seth Rollins in a WrestleMania XL rematch on RAW tonight, targeting Sami Zayn and Jey Uso because of their connections to Roman Reigns’ Bloodline.
The Scottish Psychopath spent the majority of last year battling CM Punk and, in an interview with Mail Online, spoke openly about his real-life troubles with the Second City Saint and how they influenced what we saw on TV each week.
“I didn’t really anticipate anything in the beginning, I was dealing with my personal feelings towards him, understanding why he was brought in. It’s a numbers thing. He sells a lot of T-shirts,” McIntyre explained. “And after the injury, I was going to exploit it. And it’s interesting, my name wasn’t mentioned once when it came to dream matches for CM Punk.”
“And I was like, ‘Yeah, weird. It’s almost as if there’s a guy that was around him all this time when he was a terrible person who might have stories,'” he continued. “With the Punk process, having so much real feeling, so much material, and not just my ideas…obviously creative are just absolutely on fire, and with Hunter leading the charges, setting these awesome shots up for me, all I have to do is put it in the back of the net.”
