NXT No Mercy 2024 featured several interesting matches and surprises!
WWE successfully hosted the 2024 No Mercy on September 1, 2024, from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. It was one of the most anticipated NXT pay-per-views in recent times, which featured a collaboration with TNA stars.
The show featured several interesting elements including a shocking debut and a title change. Get to know what happened on the 2024 NXT No Mercy, as we come out with the complete summary of what happened on the show.
NXT Tag Team Championship Match- Chase University (C) vs Axiom & Nathan Frazer
Andre Chase & Ridge Holland defended their NXT Tag Team Championship on the line against Nathan Frazer & Axiom in a championship rematch. The match went swinging on both sides with Frazer and Axiom showcasing extreme athletic moves and Chase & Holland showcasing powerful ground and technical moves.
In the final moments, Axiom delivered an avalanche Spanish fly and Frazer delivered a Phoenix Splash to pin Chase for the win to regain the NXT Tag Team Championship.
After the match, Ridge Holland turned on Chase University and attacked all the members of Chase U, fearing Thea hail. Holland delivered an Impaler DDT on Chase on the announcement table to make it clear that he is not with Chase U anymore.
Wes Lee vs Zachary Wentz
Zachary Wentz on TNA Wrestling faced his long-time friend and former tag team partner Wes Lee in a singles match. Both exchange strikes trying to punish each other and going for extreme athleticism.
Both went for several nearfalls delivering their signature and finishing maneuvers. In the final moments of the match, Lee went to grab the steel chair and strike Wentz with the steel chair, but Trey Miguel took the chair away from him.
Wentz delivered the Canadian Destroyer using the distraction and delivered a UFO Cutter inside the ring to win the match.
NXT Women’s North American Championship Match- Kelani Jordan (C) vs Wendy Choo
Kelani Jordan defended her NXT Women’s North American Championship against Wendy Choo in a singles match. Choo was fired up right from the beginning and took the champ down with several combinations and innovative offenses. However, Jordan refused to give her the win.
Jordan began to fight back only by the mid-match, however, only had a brief control. In the final moments, Jordan delivered a leaping stomp, forearm shivers and a 450 splash. She dragged Choo to the corner and delivered a Split-Legged Moonsault to win the match.
After the match, Tatum Paxley sneaked into the ring and performed the Dragon Sleeper to make Choo pass out and kept the doll on the pillow to make a statement.
NXT North American Championship Match- Oba Femi (C) vs Tony D’Angelo
Oba Femi defended his NXT North American Championship in a singles match against Tony D’Angelo with the D’Angelo family on the ringside. Angelo took the initial control of the match and countered Femi’s offense. Femi fought back in the mid-section and threw him over and over across the ring.
Femi dominated the mid-match, but Angelo refused to give up. The Family interfered during the match, but Femi overpowered them. In the final moments, Femi delivered a running uppercut and a couple of powerbomb to pin Tony to win the match and retain the title.
NXT Women’s Championship Match- Roxanne Perez (C) vs Jaida Parker
Roxanne Perez defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Jaida Parker in a singles match. Perez tried to finish Parkr right from the beginning, but Parker overpowered her to take control.
The match swung both sides and they fought both inside and outside the ring delivering their signature moves for the nearfall. In the final moments of the 15-minute close fight, Perez and Parker broke the barricade and Perez delivered a Pop Rocks on the floor and delivered another inside the ring to win the match and retain the title.
Giulia Debuts
After the match when Roxanne celebrated her win, the lights went out and Giulia made her WWE NXT debut confronting the champ to have a face-off in the middle of the ring.
NXT Championship Match- Ethan Page (C) vs Joe Hendry
In the main event of the show, Ethan Page defended his NXT Championship against TNA star Joe Hendry in a singles match with Trick Williams as the special guest referee. The referee Trick Williams seems to be favoring Hendry right from the start of the match. The match swung on both sides and made the fans believe that the title would change hands for sure.
In the final moments of the match, Trick got accidentally knocked out and Page used it as an advantage to deliver a Standing Ovation. A new referee came to the ring to count the fall, but Trick stopped the referee arguing that he was the referee for the match. Page accidentally punched the new referee and the official was sent out. While Williams was distracted, Page delivered a low blow and Ego’s Edge forcing Trick to count the three falls for the win.
After the match, Pete Dunne attacked Ego’s edge from the back and delivered a bitter end to end the show.
