JD McDonagh & Finn Balor haven’t defended their tag team titles since winning it
On the June 23 edition of Raw, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh of The Judgment Day beat The Awesome Truth (R-Truth and The Miz) to capture the World Tag Team Championships.
Liv Morgan, who was at ringside, distracted R-Truth before turning on him by draping his neck on the top rope and letting Balor pin him with the coup de grace.
Morgan has charmed Dominik Mysterio, earning his favor by assisting The Judgment Day. On the same Raw broadcast, she urged R-Truth to give Balor and McDonagh a championship bout, much to The Miz’s anger.
Later, she was observed heading out of the Judgment Day locker room. Damien Priest came into the room and spotted Finn Balor alone, who responded by stating nothing nefarious had occurred between them.
It was here the implosion of Judgement Day started to get visible. But the big question is since then they haven’t defended their title. It’s been 72 days & counting that they haven’t defended their titles once.
But after not defending for over 2 months now WWE have given us a shade on who their next opponents could be. They are none other than Damian Priest and former right-hand man of Roman Reigns, Jey Uso.
In the most latest edition of RAW this week we saw Jey Uso helping out Damien Priest with their Judgement Day business.
On Monday night’s RAW show, Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest defeated The Judgment Day again, due to The Archer of Infamy and Jey Uso’s tag team victory against Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh in the main event.
At one point, Liv Morgan crotched Uso to the top rope, but Mami made her presence known. Despite a left leg injury sustained earlier in the performance, she chased Morgan off of the arena, leaving Bálor and McDonagh to face off alone.
It did not turn very well for the heels. Priest and lay out the latter, while Jey Uso pinned Bálor, and the babyfaces cruised to victory to end the event.
The talent in the ring will always deliver between the ropes, and for the most part, this was a fun and lively show finale that extended the babyfaces’ retribution over the heels.
Uso’s ability to fit in here and make sense within the context of the tale, while simultaneously presumably battling with Breakker for the IC championship, demonstrates Triple H and the creative team’s ability to incorporate wrestlers into many current storylines.
