I may never be cleared: Former WWE Champion drops major update on in-ring return status

Big E has been out of action for over a year.
The former WWE Champion and the New Day Member, Big E suffered a broken neck in a match between Brawling Brutes and New Day in March 2022, after Ridge Holland of Brawling Brutes delivered a german suplex on him outside the ring, landing neck first. Big E wasn’t able to continue the match and was carried in a stretcher after the match. Big E was admitted for medical observation and later he announced on his social media that he is suffering with fractures to his C1 vertebrae and C6 vertebrae and there is no issue on the ligament or spinal cord.
There were mixed updates from backstage, where New Day members claimed that he is fully cleared, but Big E said that he was not advised to wrestle. As there were conflicting reports from backstage regarding his medical conditions, Big E has now shared a major update on his neck injury and hints that he may never be back in the ring again.
What did Big E say on his WWE return
Big E on X, shared an update on his neck injury. Big E said that his injury status is unchanged as his C1 has healed fibrously, but the new bone hasn’t formed. This makes him not medically cleared yet and says that he may never be cleared. The New Day member however said that he is blessed as he is free from pain and healthy.
Bix E on X said,
“Hey, all! Two year neck scans are in. Things are unchanged. My C1 has healed fibrously but has not formed a new bone. I’m not medically cleared and truthfully, I may never be cleared. But I am blessed to be free of pain, immensely happy and otherwise healthy. Life is good.”
During the time of his absence, he was spotted backstage doing promotions for the events, products and to work on tryouts for college athletes. Big E recently was a part of WrestleMania 40 weekend events, where he inducted Thunderbolt Patterson in the Hall of Fame with the fellow New Day members, appeared on WWE World, hosted Slammys and was in the WrestleMania 40 pre-show panel.
It is unknown whether we could see Big E back inside the ring again. However, we wish him a speedy recovery.
