Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was involved in a serious car accident on Thursday morning, July 24, 2025, just hours before the world learned about the passing of WWE icon Hulk Hogan. The incident reportedly occurred around 9:00 AM EST on the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut.

According to reports from TMZ and POST Wrestling, McMahon’s Bentley rear-ended a BMW while traveling at high speeds. The impact sent debris flying into the opposite lane, causing a Ford Fusion to crash as well. All three cars were severely damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

While no serious injuries were reported, thanks in part to airbags and seatbelts. McMahon was issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and following too closely. He is scheduled to appear in Connecticut court next month.

Barbara Dolan, the driver of the BMW struck by McMahon, shared her account of the events on Facebook. She described the crash as “horrific” and directly blamed McMahon for causing it.

“Lucky to have survived a horrific car crash… Vince McMahon hit me going 80–90mph as I drove in the right lane of the narrow Merritt Highway. Both cars totaled.”

Dolan revealed that an unmarked state trooper had been trailing McMahon just before the crash and had activated his lights to pull him over, but couldn’t stop the incident in time. She noted that McMahon swerved at the last second, striking her left rear bumper, which sent her car shooting off the road and into a 100-yard skid.

“If he had hit me full on, there might’ve been a very different ending for me.”

Adding to the weight of the moment, WWE legend Hulk Hogan tragically died later that same day. Dolan, perhaps unknowingly echoing the sentiments of wrestling fans worldwide, referenced the eerie coincidence:

“Oddly, Hulk Hogan, who made McMahon’s fame and fortune, died about the same time as the accident.”

The longtime promoter has not made a public statement about the accident. Vince McMahon is expected to appear in court in August 2025 for charges related to reckless driving. There is no word yet on civil litigation, though Dolan mentioned undergoing hospital scans following the crash and is awaiting further medical evaluation.
