Jey Uso has picked the Gunther for WrestleMania after winning the Royal Rumble match

After winning the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match, Jey Uso picked the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther for WrestleMania 41. This came despite the champion warning Jey not to pick for the grandest stage.

The Ring General voiced his frustration as he now has to battle Jey, and warned the challenger that he will make life ‘hell’ for him leading to Mania. While many fans thought it to be kayfabe new reports hint that the discontent is likely real.

In a recent conversation with Daily Mail, The Ring General gave his honest opinion and voiced his frustration with his WrestleMania title match. Gunther stated that he had no interest whatsoever in battling Jey and instead wanted a legend, someone who is a step ahead of him.

“I’m not interested in wrestling Jey at WrestleMania. I was looking for somebody who is one of the last few remaining guys on the roster that I would say are maybe one step ahead of me, and it would have been nice to be in there with one of them, to bring them down one inch and make a step up.

I think the Rumble was packed like never before. With Jey, there was basically the underdog winning in all of this. But also, on the other hand, he’s maybe the most popular guy we have right now, and people would really want to see him succeed. And they’re strapped in to follow him along this whole ride to WrestleMania now.” Gunther said.

The Ring General acknowledges the immense popularity and fan following that Jey has amassed, noting that fans are fully invested in his journey toward WrestleMania and are eagerly supporting his potential success.

Masha Slamovich will defend the TNA Knockouts World Championship against NXT’s Cora Jade

During the recent episode of TNA Impact, the Nashville-based promotion announced multiple matches for the upcoming TNA Sacrifice event. The 2025 edition of the event will emanate live from the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas.

TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich is set to defend her title against WWE NXT’s rising star Cora Jade. The match was set following the attack on Slamovich by Jade on the 02/20 episode of Impact.

Former TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth is also set to make his return to the event next month. Nemeth was suspended for a month during last week’s episode where he inadvertently superkicked the Director of Authority, Santino Marella.

Furthermore, The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) will team up with Ace Austin to battle NXT’s Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe at El Paso County Coliseum.
