Jey Uso has picked the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther for WrestleMania 41
‘Main Event’ Jey Uso kicked off the 02/10 episode of Monday Night Raw in Nashville as the crowd roared in welcoming the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble winner. However, the celebration quickly changed into agony as World Heavyweight Champion Gunther launched an attack.
Gunther attacked Jey Uso while he was ‘Yeeting’ with the crowd at the commentary desk. The World Heavyweight Champion continued the assault as Jey tried to fight back. Gunther pushed him into the ring and took down Jey with a brutal boot.
The Ring General ripped off Jey’s tee and followed it up with a powerbomb. He then locked in a submission, yelling, ‘Don’t do it, Jey!’ as security and officials rushed in to diffuse the situation. However, this only irked Jey who made up his mind and chose Gunther for WrestleMania, ‘Me and you at WrestleMania.’
Following the segment, the Champion took to his official X handle to send a message to Jey. Gunther mocked Jey calling him a mid-card talent, ‘a clown, the champion also claimed that Jey was destroying his legacy.
The champion also sent a stern to Jey promising that the coming weeks until WrestleMania would be hell for him. “I promise you one thing Jey, from now until WrestleMania, Will be hell!, ’10 weeks of hell!”
Rhea Ripley is set to defend the Women’s World title against Iyo Sky in three weeks
Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley unintentionally cost Iyo Sky the Elimination Chamber Qualifying match last week against Liv Morga. This was due to a backstage attack by Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on Ripley and Iyo.
The Champion came out during the match to confront Rauqel but in the heat of the moment also punched Morgan causing the disqualification. While Ripley tried to console Iyo, the latter was angry at the champion and left the ring.
On this week’s episode of the Red brand during a backstage segment, Ripley met Sky who was accompanied by her Damage CTRL member Dakota Kai. Ripley stated that she spoke to General Manager Adam Pearce and while she didn’t owe Iyo anything, but she would do it because she wanted to.
Rhea announced a title clash between her and Iyo three weeks from now, on the Raw after Elimination Chamber. Iyo Sky replied that she couldn’t wait as the segment ended. The two stars will clash in the March 03 episode of Monday Night Raw which will emanate from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
