“The Man” was the first woman to main event WrestleMania.
Becky Lynch is one of the greatest women professional wrestlers of all time, who played a major role in the women’s revolution. Lynch has been in WWE since 2013 and has achieved great heights. She is one of the horsewomen, who brought the spotlight to the women’s division and uplifted the company to an all-new level of legitimacy. She is a nine-time champion & the sixth Grand Slam Champion in the company.
Although having a great run in the company, her contract expiry is getting nearer, which makes it uncertain about her future with the company. It was previously reported that Becky Lynch’s contract is expected to expire by mid-2024, however, the latest report confirms that her contract expiry is sooner than expected. Here we take a look at The Man’s WWE contract status & whether she has signed a new contract or not.
Becky Lynch’s WWE contract status
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Becky Lynch is currently on her previous contract and she has not signed a new deal despite being the Women’s World Champion. Although there have been conversations regarding a new deal, her status remains the same. The report confirms that Lynch’s contract will expire in three weeks.
Fightful Select report,
“Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that Lynch is still on her previous contract, has not signed a new deal, despite being Women’s World Champion. There have been ongoing conversations regarding a new deal. However, as things stand, Becky Lynch’s contract with WWE is up in roughly three weeks.”
Becky Lynch in a previous interview on ‘MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani’ was asked about whether she will renew her contract with WWE. To which Lynch said, “We’ll see”. She was asked if she could move to other promotions. She said she is WWE, however, she is uncertain about her decision whether to sign a new contract or not.
With three weeks from contract expiry, Becky Lynch will be defending her Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan at King and Queen of the Ring 2024 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Will the match with Liv Morgan be her last match in WWE, under the current contract? We need to wait and watch until there is a confirmation about her contract signings.
