SummerSlam is the second biggest PLE of WWE
SummerSlam 2024 is right around the horizon, with one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year set for August 3 in Cleveland.
Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley will headline the event, which is also scheduled to include Logan Paul, CM Punk and maybe even Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
SummerSlam follows the most lucrative version of WrestleMania in history, and some innovative narratives ensure huge financial success for WWE and its parent company, Endeavor.
How much will the WWE wrestlers earn at SummerSlam 2024?
The intricacies of WWE contracts have traditionally been difficult to determine. However, in 2022, WWE star-turned-executive Triple H (real name Paul Levesque) informed The Athletic that the company’s minimum basic compensation for performers is $250,000.
That sum may have climbed since then, and it only applied to members of the Smackdown Live and Raw teams, not wrestlers on NXT, WWE’s developmental program.
Wrestlers’ incomes are, however, increased by product sales and, it is thought, pay-per-view revenue cutbacks. Of course, merchandising and pay-per-view sales are expected to be high on a SummerSlam weekend, making August 3 one of the most profitable days of the year for most WWE superstars.
Last August, The Mirror listed some of the top WWE salaries as follows: Roman Reigns $5 million per year; Randy Orton $5 million per year; Seth Rollins $3.5 million per year; Cody Rhodes $3 million per year; and Logan Paul $2 million per year. These amounts purportedly exclude bonuses.
The exact figure that the wrestlers might earn is not known but if wrestlers have a contract in which PPV appearance pays them then WWE has to give them a cut from profits. Also, wrestlers get a 5% cut from their merchandise sales as well.
When and where is WWE SummerSlam 2024?
WWE SummerSlam maintains its illustrious history as a staple WWE event. On August 3, Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland will host the promotion’s third-longest-running pay-per-view, and the card looks good.
Two contests have been recognized for quite some time: the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Women’s Championship. On May 25, Gunther and Nia Jax won the King and Queen of the Ring competitions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, earning title chances for their companies’ crowns at SummerSlam.
Damian Priest, the world heavyweight champion, and WWE women’s champion Bayley are both defending their titles heading into SummerSlam season. Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa, Liv Morgan vs Rhea Ripley, and CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre are among the event’s highlights.
