Jacob Fatu had to face a series of attacks before making his return.

Randy Orton’s current feud with Aleister Black may be more than a short-term rivalry. While The Viper has been locked in a heated program with Black in recent weeks, a new report suggests the storyline could be laying the groundwork for a far bigger twist, one involving Jacob Fatu.

Orton and Black first crossed paths in a triple-threat Elimination Chamber qualifying match on February 6, also featuring Solo Sikoa. Orton emerged victorious, but the fallout extended beyond the result.

The following week, Black delivered a pointed promo revisiting Orton’s darker past, drawing comparisons to his ruthless 2009 persona. The tension escalated when the two headlined SmackDown in a singles bout that Black won after Drew McIntyre interfered while the referee’s back was turned.

Though some questioned the long-term purpose of the feud, new speculation indicates it could serve as narrative foreshadowing.

Could Randy Orton be Jacob Fatu’s secret attacker?

In mid-October last year, Jacob Fatu was set to compete in a No. 1 Contender’s match against Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship, then held by Cody Rhodes.

Before the bout could take place, Fatu was found lying out backstage, bleeding from the mouth. The Samoan Werewolf was subsequently written off television.

Fatu returned on January 9 and immediately targeted McIntyre, who had denied involvement in the attack for months. However, a report from Self Made Pro now claims a different reveal could be coming.

“There’s a very good chance that Jacob faces Randy Orton because Randy Orton is revealed as the person that attacked him,” the report stated.

It continued: “I asked creative, ‘Why is Randy working with Aleister Black? Is that a WrestleMania thing?’ I asked that last week. They said, ‘No, it’s — we’re…’ basically, they said that we’re using Aleister the way we used to use Kross, in that we’re using him to indicate something looming or to foreshadow something with another person’s character.”

“So they’re putting Aleister with Randy to foreshadow something involving Randy. That’s what I was told. Then that may mean that Randy is the person who attacked Jacob Fatu — and then you can get that match.”

If true, the revelation would dramatically reshape the WrestleMania landscape and pivot Orton into a high-profile program with Fatu. For now, it remains a report, but the seeds of suspicion have clearly been planted.

Why is Randy Orton feuding with Aleister Black?

Officially, the feud stems from their Elimination Chamber qualifier. Reports suggest it may also be foreshadowing a larger storyline involving Orton.

What happened to Jacob Fatu last year?

He was attacked backstage before a No. 1 Contender’s match and written off TV until his return in January.

Has WWE confirmed Orton attacked Fatu?

No. The claim is based on reports and has not been officially confirmed by WWE.
