The Queen made her return on the Backlash go-home show of SmackDown!
WWE fans in Dayton, Ohio got a huge surprise as Charlotte Flair made her return unannounced on Friday Night SmackDown, following WrestleMania 41. The Queen then walked out to the ring for a segment, calling her WrestleMania 41 clash the greatest match, stating that despite her knee injury, she took ‘their’ champion to the absolute limit.
Flair pointed to Tiffany Stratton’s image from WrestleMania 41, asking if that’s the face that enjoyed the match. Flair declared her path back to the WWE Title as the crowd continued to boo. She went off on the fans, stating that she is the Greatest of All Time and yet still receives all the boos and hate.
However, the Ohio crowd continue to rain down boos on Flair, she lashed out at the crowd, warning that if she heard one more chant, she would leave Dayton and never come back. The crowd erupted with boos, which only irked Flair more. She threw down the mic and exited the ring.
While Flair had a brief face-off with Jade Cargill who told Charlotte that she had her chance, but now she would have to go back to the line. Flair also has backstage segment where Alexa Bliss appeared and said, “Let’s chat” as the segment ended.
Charlotte Flair suffered defeat against Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41
The abrupt exit stating that she will leave and never come back, made many fans question if Flair was serious as many were hoping for the next chapter for Flair to either restart her journey towards the title or involve in a storyline with Jade Cargill, as the clash has been anticipated since her return.
However, it seems highly unlikely that Charlotte Flair will retire from the WWE, and might just be that the loss, accompanied by the boos irked her, prompting Flair to lash out and leave. The face-off with Jade Cargill and her comments afterwards might also be a subtle hint by the promotion of what’s coming next.
Flair is coming off a loss to WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41 (Saturday), where Flair was looking to win her 15th World title but failed in her attempt as Stratton pinned her to retain the title.
With Saturday Night’s Main Event and Money in the Bank on the horizon, WWE will likely have huge plans for Charlotte and this might not be the last time we see her inside the squared circle.
What do you think Charlotte Flair should do after the WrestleMania loss? Will she team up with Alexa Bliss or target Jade Cargill for her comments? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
